Mystic Hearts and Timeless Bonds – Part One

Hearing their conversation, Xiao Tu felt a pang of guilt; those officials must have already reached the underworld. Had she killed them? Suddenly, she realized her hands were stained with blood, with hundreds of lives extinguished by her actions. Their families waited anxiously at home, and she felt truly wicked for disrupting families.

Seeing Xiao Tu’s face turn pale, Xia Yu Ye understood her thoughts. He took her hand, leading her outside. In that moment of panic, a warm, moist hand grasped her increasingly cold hands, and he guided her out of the shop. Watching them leave, Ying Li asked, puzzled, “Sister Lian Lian, where did Fairy Sister and Brother Xia go?”

Busy with her pastries, Lian Lian suddenly smiled mysteriously, “It’s nothing; we’ll enjoy our pastries, then go watch a play.”

“Watch a play? That’s great, Li’er loves watching plays,” Li’er said happily.

“Are the pastries good?” a low voice whispered in Lian Lian’s ear.

“They’re delicious,” she replied, her mind fully on the pastries.

“You little glutton, are you a pig? All you do is eat all day,” Gu Dong said with an angry yet cute expression, his small figure stretching to tug at Lian Lian’s ear.

“Ouch, that hurts, you little brat! Calling me a pig? Look at you, short and chubby, you look more like one!” Lian Lian retorted, not backing down, pulling his hand away and rubbing her slightly red ear, a hint of laughter in her eyes, showing her happiness.
