★ Young Master is Sick 14

Tao Yu’s heart sank when he asked her this, knowing that today’s events would not end well. Behind her was Yue Ze, and there was no turning back.

“Young Master, I…” Tao Yu opened her mouth, then closed it with difficulty.

Yue Lin, seeing Tao Yu not speaking, let out a weak laugh and said while gasping: “Don’t go, I prepared a cake and fireworks for you. Won’t you stay?”

Tao Yu opened her mouth, with the word “okay” almost on her lips when Yue Ze’s voice slowly sounded from behind: “Come here, girl.”

Tao Yu was startled and instantly sobered up. Yue Lin felt her body tense momentarily and instinctively tightened his grip on her sleeve.

“Sorry…” Yue Ze’s words seemed like a signal. Tao Yu’s voice choked up, but she still gritted her teeth and refused.

Yue Lin’s fingertips trembled as he said, forcing himself: “Stay. I can pretend today never happened. I won’t hold it against you in the future. I will… love you, okay?”

“…Sorry, I am Yue Ze’s girlfriend.” Tao Yu’s heart ached as she faced his plea. It was more like she was reminding herself than speaking to Yue Lin.

Yue Lin looked at her weakly, his feet becoming increasingly unsteady, relying only on willpower to stay conscious: “Don’t go, please don’t go…”

“I’m sorry, Young Master.” Tao Yu felt increasingly heartbroken but still forcibly broke free from Yue Lin’s hand. Yue Lin’s face instantly dimmed, and his breathing became lighter.

She steeled herself and turned to Yue Ze: “Can you help me get him seated nearby?”

Yue Ze stared at her for a long time, then revealed a gentle smile: “Of course.”

He walked towards them and mercilessly pried Yue Lin’s hand from Tao Yu’s sleeve. Yue Lin stared at his eyes, filled with disgust and hatred, and coldly said when Yue Ze was about to help him: “Don’t touch me!”

Yue Ze paused, a sarcastic smile forming at the corner of his mouth: “Sickly one, what can you do?”

“Yue Ze!” Tao Yu looked at him disapprovingly. Yue Lin’s condition was already not right, and she didn’t want him to provoke further.

Yue Ze’s gaze was cold. He grabbed Yue Lin’s arm, dragged him to the roadside, and dropped him. When Yue Lin fell to the ground, his eyes seemed to have cold, sharp blades.

“Thank you for taking care of my girlfriend during this time,” Yue Ze looked into his eyes and suddenly revealed a victor’s smile. The humiliation of once having Tao Yu taken away from him was now completely returned.

Yue Lin looked at him coldly and after a while, lightly laughed: “Do you think you’ve won?”

“What else?” Yue Ze raised an eyebrow.

Yue Lin’s face turned pale, his eyes full of contempt: “Do you think Tao Yu is willing to go with you? It’s just out of guilt. She had already agreed to my proposal days ago.”

“Is that so?” Yue Ze laughed, “How impressive, still lying and trying to provoke even at this moment. Too bad, our relationship is great, and I’m afraid you’ve miscalculated.”

He turned to look at Tao Yu, then bent down to look down at Yue Lin contemptuously: “Yue Lin, how long can you live? One year? Two years? You don’t even have time, so what can you compete with?”

“Are you sure you’ll live longer than me?” Yue Lin sneered, “That’s too confident. Besides, what does time mean? As long as I’m alive, Tao Yu is mine.”

Yue Ze’s smile deepened. Standing up, he looked down and said: “Is that so? Too bad you can’t steal her away.”

Tao Yu had been observing Yue Lin’s expression. Seeing that he was not as uncomfortable as before, she felt relieved. Hearing the ambulance in the distance, she looked steadily at Yue Lin’s face, silently praying he would live peacefully until the day she returned.

Yue Lin, who was originally staring at Yue Ze, suddenly shifted his gaze to her. Tao Yu was caught off guard and quickly looked away. Yue Lin gave a slight laugh. Yue Ze frowned and turned, seeing Tao Yu’s panicked and guilty expression. For a moment, his victor’s mood was dampened.

Tao Yu realized her actions were too heartbreaking, leaving no room for reconciliation. She bit her lip, about to try to salvage the situation when An An’s father suddenly said solemnly: “Boss, it’s time to go!”

Tao Yu instinctively looked at Yue Lin, finding he was still staring at her, seemingly for a long time. She opened her mouth but ultimately said nothing.

Yue Ze walked over coldly, embracing her with one arm, glanced back at the approaching car, and said flatly: “Take Yue Lin’s car.”

Though Yue Lin’s car was also damaged, the tires were fine, so it was relatively better. An An’s father immediately checked and, finding minimal damage, turned around: “Boss, Fatty, let’s go!”

“Okay!” Fatty laughed and ran over, quickly jumping into the passenger seat.

Yue Ze dragged Tao Yu’s shoulder forward. Though she didn’t look back, she could feel Yue Lin’s gaze never leaving her. As she was led to the car and the door was opened, she bit her lip and said with a heavy heart: “I’ll just say goodbye to him.”

“What is there to say?” Yue Ze looked at her coldly.

Tao Yu was pierced by his gaze, ultimately pushing him away and running towards Yue Lin while shouting: “I’ll just say two sentences. Wait for me!”

She ran to Yue Lin’s front, seeing his bloodless lips made her eyes well up. After holding back, she forced a smile: “Young Master, I’m leaving. Take care of yourself. We still have a long time ahead, and we’ll meet again someday.

Am I not good to you?” Yue Lin asked weakly, his eyes dry yet giving the impression he was about to cry at any moment.

Tao Yu pinched her palm, steadying her breath before trembling, “Very good. Young Master treats me exceptionally well.”

“If I’m so good, why are you leaving?” Yue Lin pressed.

Tao Yu lowered her eyes. “I’m sorry, Young Master.”

“You’re still calling me Young Master when you’re about to leave?” Yue Lin gave a miserable laugh.

Tao Yu’s lips moved, and Yue Ze’s voice sounded again: “They’re catching up. Aren’t you going to leave?”

Tao Yu’s fingertips twitched. When she looked up again, she was much calmer. She reached out and grabbed Yue Lin’s hand, letting go before he could react, then turned and ran toward Yue Ze.

Yue Lin watched her back grow distant, finally disappearing after a car door slammed shut. The car sped away with a roar, and at the same time, the rain that had been held back all day finally began to fall.

The rainwater hit Yue Lin, quickly soaking his carefully chosen clothes. His usually neat hair was flattened by the rain, and his flawless face, which should have looked noble and untouched by worldly dust, now appeared utterly despondent, like a sculpture marked with countless scars.

The rain was cold, sliding down his cheeks. There was no warmth in his body, and he was shivering, breathing with difficulty, yet feeling a warm sensation at the corner of his eye, different from the other raindrops.

Yue Lin was stunned for a moment, trembling as he touched the corner of his eye, then fell into darkness, completely passing out.

Tao Yu sat uneasily in the car, startled by the sound of rain. “Yue Lin is still outside. His body can’t handle getting wet. Getting wet could be dangerous.”

“Wouldn’t it be better if something happens to him? Then we won’t have to worry about him causing trouble,” Yue Ze said indifferently.

Tao Yu frowned at him. “He’s your own brother. How can you say such a thing?”

“What, are you feeling sorry for him?” Yue Ze was becoming impatient, his inner irritation seeking an outlet.

Tao Yu heard the anger in his voice and became more rational, knowing that in his eyes, her concern would seem unreasonable. She suppressed her worries and fell silent.

Yue Ze was about to continue questioning when An An’s father quickly interrupted: “Don’t worry. Those people have already caught up. They’ll definitely rescue Yue Lin first and won’t let him get wet.”
