The Trials of Rebirth

Rebirth Your Sister!
Author: A Copper Coin

Prelude: I Am the Rebirth Lord

Five years ago, when the Transmigration Lord was busy to the point of exhaustion, we divine lords all laughed at him. Every time we saw him dressed in red and green heading to the time tunnel, we would wave at him while playing mahjong.

Two years later, the Farmer’s Wife Lord became busy. Every day, she was rushing through various farmer’s wife lives. It didn’t seem as grand as what the Transmigration Lord encountered, with no special agents or martial arts world. Who says farmer life isn’t boundless?

At that time, I thought such a life was far from me. But one day, I woke up to find myself also becoming a busy person.

Rebirth your sister!

I haven’t had a good night’s sleep in two years, countless times fantasizing that my magical powers could work on myself, then I could be reborn… then I could stop being a divine lord in the divine realm!

Unfortunately, my magical powers can’t be used on myself, damn it!

This day, receiving a mission from the High God to help an unloved imperial concubine be reborn, I packed my bags and rode the clouds towards the Heavenly Path entrance.

Passing through the bamboo forest, I wanted to avoid the other divine lords, but heard the Transmigration Lord shout, “Missed!”

Tsk, look at that excitement, probably missed ten rounds again. My hands itched, but I resolutely avoided looking.

Somehow, someone spotted me from far away and shouted, “Oh, Rebirth Lord, you’re off on a mission again. Envious, truly envious.”

The idle Online Game Lord laughed, “Looks like the divine realm’s vitality ranking champion this year will be the Rebirth Lord again.”

The Farming Lord shook his head, “Not necessarily. The Farmer’s Wife Lord and Palace Intrigue Lord’s attendance rates are also very high.”

A bunch of jerks talking without experiencing it! I swept my sleeve away, passed through the bamboo forest, and jumped into the Heavenly entrance.

Abandoned Concubine Reborn (Part One)

The North Land Imperial Palace is where the North Land Emperor resides. The key point is my new mission – helping an abandoned concubine be reborn.

The divine realm has specialized personnel who manage messages transmitted across the three realms, organizing transmigrations and palace intrigues. Only sincere, heartfelt requests can reach the divine realm. Most of the time, I just need to apply magical powers to send them back to a certain point in the past. However, the process requires spending seven days with them before execution.

After reviewing the manual given by the Mission Lord, passing the Heavenly Path entrance made finding the destination easy.

Still in mid-air, I saw the magnificent palace, golden and resplendent under the blazing sun, dazzling my eyes.

Lightly floating into the Cold Palace, I transformed into a palace maid and walked inside.

I’ve been to many imperial palaces, but this was my first time in a Cold Palace. After completing this mission, I’ll go back to the bamboo forest and win back all my money from those bastards in mahjong.

Stepping softly into the room, I saw a young woman in a light blue dress sitting by the window, hands folded on the table, chin resting on them, gazing outside.

The woman wasn’t stunningly beautiful but had a delicate, pleasant appearance typical of a Jiangnan water town.

Confirming this was indeed the neglected concubine banished to the Cold Palace, I walked over: “My lady, this servant is sent to attend to you.”

The concubine didn’t raise her eyes, softly responding: “Mm.”

And then… I stood there for two hours.

In the human world, there are human world rules. Having transformed into a palace maid, I must follow a maid’s etiquette. Without her speaking, I could only stand.

As evening approached, a sound came from outside, and an old eunuch entered: “It’s time for the evening meal.”

The moment his eyes swept over me, I breathed out, and the old eunuch’s expression blurred momentarily, loudly saying: “Xiaohua, bring the evening meal for my lady.”

Before reaching the imperial kitchen, I already smelled dozens of intertwining aromas. I took deep breaths – the human world is indeed a good place.

Entering the kitchen, I saw it was busy but orderly, with cooks preparing dishes and maids arranging meals. According to the manual, Cold Palace meals come last, basically served simultaneously with the maids.

After waiting a long time, I went to collect the meal box, and a maid said, “Oh, the Qin Concubine has a new maid again.”

As soon as the words fell, I was surrounded…

I had already transformed into a maid with just passable features. Can’t you not stare at me like this? I smiled: “I should go back, or the supervisor will scold me.

The palace maids burst into laughter: “Who would be idle enough to scold the master of the Cold Palace? What’s your name?”

“Xiaohua.”

“That name sounds lowly. Xiaocao would be better.”

You call me Xiaocao, your name is lowly. I suppressed my eye roll and laughed: “Xiaohua needs to go back.”

“Hey.” The palace maids grabbed me, with an enigmatic expression, “Let us warn you, before you came, five palace maids had already died around Qin Fei, each died miserably. There are rumors that Qin Fei is a monster; be careful not to be eaten!”

I pretended to be scared and stammered: “Thank you, sisters.”

I shrugged, took the food box, and flipped through the manual. Besides the palace layout, positions, and personnel information, it didn’t mention anything about Qin Fei’s palace maids.

Returning to the Cold Palace, Qin Fei was still sitting by the window, staring blankly outside. I placed the meal and followed her gaze – the sunset was still there, the sky full of evening clouds, nothing special: “Your Highness, it’s time to eat.”

Qin Fei slowly stood up, walked to the table, and asked: “Xiaohua?”

“This servant is here.”

Qin Fei smiled softly: “The imperial palace is not good. If you can leave, it’s better to do so early.”

I glanced at her, her light smile incompatible with the palace’s murkiness. The manual said that three years ago, the emperor brought her, originally a commoner, into the palace. Later, she was not favored and, having offended the empress, was sent to the Cold Palace.

I looked up towards the window again, in the direction of the palace gates.

An unremarkable day passed.

Qin Fei was truly easy to serve, much better than other concubines I’d encountered. I checked the values in my palm – her desire to be reborn had not diminished but increased. It seems my mission can be completed smoothly in six days.

The Cold Palace’s lights were dim, with few palace maids. Lying down at night, listening to the breathing around me, I tossed and turned sleeplessly.

Usually sleeping less than two hours a day had become a habit. My ethereal body slipped out, jumping off the wooden bed, preparing to wander the imperial palace.

The palace was still brightly lit, with only patrolling guards and few palace servants moving about.

I leisurely appreciated the night scenery when a sigh reached my ears.

The sigh was light, seemingly suppressed. I peeked over the wall and saw a handsome young man, wearing perfectly-fitted fine brocade, with neat embroidered patterns on the edges of his light purple robe. I walked closer – hmm, this was Feng Qing, the emperor of North Lu.

An emperor sighing so profoundly – I disdainfully sat nearby, extracting the soul from a fruit on the table and tossing it into my mouth. But what would keep him awake at midnight? I followed his gaze downward, noting his strong fingers gripping a translucent jade pendant, just staring.

“Knock knock, my lord.”

I looked up to see a tall figure standing outside.

“Come in,” Feng Qing tucked the jade pendant away, looking at the entering person with cold eyes.
