I asked the little boy directly, in a Zhou Xingxing-like tone: “An emperor?! A prince?!”
A flash of shock crossed the boy’s eyes, quickly replaced by a wary and sharp gaze as he stared at me, not saying a word.
“Hey, little brat, aren’t your eyes tired from staring like this? Blink, blink… How old are you?” I kindly tried to force his eyes closed, feeling strange being so intensely stared at by a little kid.
He awkwardly turned his head to one side, then pursed his scarlet lips in protest: “I’m ten years old.”
His childish voice was hoarse, and I was startled: “Didn’t the Hongyi death squad give you water?”
He didn’t answer, just turned his head and calmly looked at the worried old grandfather, then lowered his head silently. I thought for a moment and rushed out of the room to get a water bag from Uncle Ziyi, hurrying back to the interrogation room.
“Drink!” I pressed the water bag to his lips, and he immediately turned his head to the left, motionless. “Are you going to drink or not?” I was furious.
“Hmph.” He tightly bit his lips and let out a cold snort through his beautiful nose. In a fit of anger, I tilted my head back and poured some water into my mouth, then pressed my lips against his. His eyes widened in surprise, his lips loosened, and I easily pried open his teeth. I pushed the water into his mouth, and with a “gulp,” ha! I finally got him to drink.
“You…” The little boy’s face flushed red, glaring at me so angry he could barely speak. The old grandfather looked shocked, glancing between me and the boy, his face showing a look of disapproval of physical contact between men and women.
I raised my eyebrows triumphantly, waving the water bag: “See? Will you drink now? Want me to keep feeding you?”
“Your beauty trick won’t work on me!” The boy’s face was tinged with a light blush, vigilantly staring at me.
“Haha, thanks for the compliment, little brat!” I burst into laughter, almost rolling on the ground. He even knows about beauty tricks!
“Why do you thank me when I expose you? Why are you laughing?” The boy looked completely bewildered, indeed just a little kid.
