Beauty’s Doom

Faint conversation could be heard from inside, one voice sounding very familiar, though the speakers were facing away and their faces couldn’t be seen.

The man beside him chuckled and shook his head, speaking softly: “Alright, Chen, if you keep stomping on this roof, you’ll break through it. Why don’t you ask the two ladies to come down and sit?”

“Hmph…” He coldly snorted and turned his face away in displeasure.

“No need for him to invite us; we’ll walk down ourselves! Luo Yan—” After giving him a disdainful glare, I turned to look at Luo Yan, slowly extending my hand, thinking the girl must have gone numb from squatting for too long.

Unexpectedly, the girl jumped up in shock, trying to run away, but someone was faster and blocked her path.

The man called Xi lightly furrowed his eyebrows and tentatively called out, “Luo Yan?”

The girl immediately lowered her head and said, “I’m sorry, sir, you’ve got the wrong person!”

“Is that so?” The man clearly didn’t believe her and raised an eyebrow.

Before Luo Yan could nod, she was lifted and carried downstairs. I was stunned, hurriedly chasing after her.

Inside the room, the lights were bright, and the man held Luo Yan tightly in his arms. Her veil was long gone. I instinctively struck out towards the man’s face.

The man holding Luo Yan gently turned, dodging my attack. I was somewhat angry and glared at him: “You lecher, let her go!”

“Lecher?” The man didn’t get angry but laughed.

“Randomly hugging and holding women, if not a lecher, then what?” I pouted, thinking: He looks quite handsome, but unfortunately he’s a libertine who likes to take liberties with women.

The man wasn’t angry, and with a smile, he looked at Luo Yan and said with feigned distress: “What should I do? Doesn’t my wife want to explain for her husband?”

“Uh?” Luo Yan’s face immediately turned hot, awkwardly turning to look at me.

I wide-eyed directly pulled off her veil, uncertainly asking: “He… is your royal husband?”

But… that guy was extraordinarily clear-headed, calm, and rational. I actually didn’t notice such an obvious point. Damn it, he has been deceiving me all along!
