Chapter 1: Ask for Help with the Right Attitude
“Ji Li, why are you suing my dad? He’s been so good to you, and yet you repay kindness with enmity!” Gu Anqi burst into the office, angrily demanding an explanation.
The handsome man seated in the office chair had a sinister look in his eyes as he sneered coldly, “Repay kindness with enmity? Tell me, what kindness has that old man ever shown me?”
Gu Anqi suddenly felt a chill. The man before her seemed like a stranger, not the Ji Li who had always cherished her and tolerated her every whim. His grim and ruthless demeanor now sent shivers down her spine.
“You… how can you treat my dad like this? If it weren’t for his help, your Ji Corporation would have changed hands long ago. Do you think you could still be sitting here talking to me?”
Ji Li scoffed, standing up and approaching Gu Anqi, grabbing a handful of her hair and forcing her face close to his, menacingly saying, “You should first consider if you even have the right to speak to me like this. The Gu family is bankrupt; do you still think you’re some lofty princess?”
Gu Anqi endured the pain, gritting her teeth, “It’s all your doing, isn’t it?”
“I should thank you for that. If you hadn’t placed that bugged gift at home, how would I have gotten the evidence against Gu Bochuan so quickly?” It turned out Ji Li had been plotting from the very beginning! From the time he started pursuing her in high school to now, it had been eight years. Eight years, how many eight years does one have in a lifetime? During their time together, Ji Li had spoiled Gu Anqi rotten, fulfilling her every unreasonable demand. Although Gu Anqi always pretended not to care, deep down, she was already thinking about getting engaged to him. She thought that once they married, the entire Gu family would fall into Ji Li’s hands, but she hadn’t anticipated that this man couldn’t even wait that long and had already shown his true colors.
The betrayal and manipulation overwhelmed her, leaving her momentarily speechless. She had always thought she held the upper hand in their relationship, but in his eyes, she was just a fool, happily counting the money she was sold for.
Suppressing her heartache, she scorned, “Now that Gu Corporation is yours, why do you still need to sue my dad?”
“Is Miss Gu begging me to drop the charges? But your attitude is hardly one of someone asking for help!”
“What do you want?” Gu Anqi gritted her teeth.
Ji Li let go of her, sat on the sofa, his face stern, “Take off your clothes!”
“What did you say?” Gu Anqi clutched her clothes, stepping back.
Ji Li, seeing her defensive stance, said indifferently, “Whether you strip or not is up to you, but remember, you’re the one asking for a favor here.”
Gu Anqi clenched and unclenched her fists, finally slowly undoing her buttons. When she was down to her underwear, she stopped.
“Continue!” Ji Li said expressionlessly, though his breathing had become heavy.
A profound sense of humiliation rose in her heart. Over their eight-year relationship, she had never initiated intimacy. Even during moments of passion, she maintained her dignity. Now, she was to stand naked before Ji Li in such a degrading manner. How could Gu Anqi, always proud and lofty, bear it? But bear it she must, for only this could save her father.
When Gu Anqi shed the last of her defenses, Ji Li could no longer control himself. He pinned her to the sofa, entering her without any foreplay, his actions rough and unforgiving. Gu Anqi was in such pain she nearly fainted, but the man behind her showed no mercy. He lifted her head to face the mirror, “Look at your own pathetic state! Isn’t the lofty Miss Gu above everyone? How does it feel to be pinned down in the office?”
Gu Anqi bit her lip, stubbornly refusing to make a sound. Ji Li’s movements grew more aggressive, intent on shattering her pride, trampling her dignity underfoot to make up for the humiliation he had endured at her hands all these years.
Chapter 2: Get Dressed and Leave
Afterward, Ji Li adjusted his clothes, returning to his office chair, his cold gaze fixed on Gu Anqi, who lay collapsed on the sofa. “Get dressed and leave!” he said icily.
Gu Anqi, enduring the pain, silently dressed herself. Despite the difficulty in standing, she straightened up and walked over to him. “Are you satisfied now? Can you drop the charges?”
Ji Li scoffed, “What are you thinking? Did you think one night would erase everything? You think too highly of yourself.”
“You clearly promised!”
“I only said you need the attitude of someone asking for help. When did I say I’d let your father go after this?”
Ridiculous, utterly ridiculous. Gu Anqi laughed in anger, scorning, “Ji Li, you are truly despicable! Why go through all this trouble when you could just wait until we’re married? You waited eight years; what’s another two?”
Ji Li, with a sneer, pushed her to the ground and looked down at her coldly, “Marry you? Dream on! Now that the Gu family is in my hands, why would I demean myself by marrying a woman I don’t love?”
Even though she had figured out Ji Li’s intentions, hearing him say he didn’t love her still hurt. Trembling, she asked, “In those eight years, didn’t you ever love me, even for a second?”
At that moment, there was a knock at the door, and a beautiful woman in a light yellow dress walked in, rushing to Ji Li’s side. Ji Li embraced her, saying to Gu Anqi, “This is my fiancée, Chu Youyou. You know her.”
Chu Youyou, her best friend, now happily nestled in Ji Li’s arms, looked at Gu Anqi with a triumphant smile. Gu Anqi sat on the floor, utterly shocked to see her best friend and boyfriend together.
“You… how could you!”
Chu Youyou said sweetly, “Ji, didn’t we agree to tell her later?”
But her expression contradicted her words; she clearly wanted Gu Anqi to see that her boyfriend was now engaged to her. So she looked at Gu Anqi and insincerely explained, “Sorry, Anqi, it turns out the one he loves is actually me. You wouldn’t want to force him to be with someone he doesn’t love, right?” “You’re shameless! I trusted you so much, how could you do this to me!” Gu Anqi got up angrily and was about to slap Chu Youyou, but Ji Li pushed her back, causing her to fall to the ground again. Looking at the cold-hearted man in front of her and the woman who was gloating over her misfortune, Gu Anqi felt an urge to rush forward and kill them both. But the reality was, she could only sit on the ground in disgrace, letting them watch her as if she were a spectacle. Before today, she thought she was the happiest woman in the world, with a loving father, a prominent family background, and a boyfriend who, despite his playfulness, doted on her. But now, everything had changed; her father was in prison, her family was bankrupt, and even her proud boyfriend was only close to her because of her family background. In an instant, she went from being the happiest woman to having nothing. Thrown out by the security guards of Ji Corporation, she finally couldn’t bear it anymore and burst into tears. After eight years, even raising a dog would have created some attachment, right? How could Ji Li be so heartless to her? Ji Li stood by the window, watching Gu Anqi crying pitifully at the entrance, a sense of satisfaction rising within him. Gu Anqi, this is just the beginning!
Chapter 3: You’re So Cruel
