Xing Yun followed Deng Ma through the garden, noticing that the usually quiet ancestral home now had many men in black, so she asked, “Deng Ma, what’s going on?”
Deng Ma replied: “Madam has returned.”
“My mother?” Xing Yun frowned. “This seems unnecessary.”
Deng Ma paused before adding: “The eldest young master is also here.”
Xing Yun said: “How strange. I just met Shi Lei at the airport, and he was complaining about not seeing my brother for many days.”
Deng Ma glanced at her but ultimately said nothing and went upstairs to handle her luggage.
Wang Fengyi stared at the kraft paper bag in her hand, her gaze suddenly cold as ice.
Xia Qianchi, she actually dared to come back? If not for her, Tuo’er would not be so resolute!
Wang Fengyi looked at Xing Tuo, whose gaze was still fixed outside the window, and silently threw the kraft paper bag on the desk. Xing Tuo glanced at the bag by his side, suspiciously picked it up, and opened it—
“She’s back?” Xing Tuo looked up at his mother in shock: “What exactly do you want?”
There were only two photos in the kraft paper bag: one of Xia Qianchi stepping out of the train station, and another of her standing quietly in front of her mother’s tombstone.
Wang Fengyi said coldly: “I want you to come back to the United States with me, and never see her again!”
“Impossible!” Xing Tuo refused outright!
“Then,” Wang Fengyi’s lips curved with a subtle smile, though her eyes remained icy: “I cannot guarantee her safety!”
“You—”
Xing Tuo suddenly covered his forehead, his body swaying unsteadily.
“Brother, are you okay? Are you alright?”
Xing Tuo allowed Xing Yun to help him to the large bed. As he turned, he whispered something in her ear.
“Should I call a doctor?”
“No need, just a bit dizzy. I want to sleep. You can all leave,” Xing Tuo said indifferently.
Rest well,” Xing Yun said, without looking at Wang Fengyi again, and turned to walk out.
Xing Yun slowly walked through the corridor and down the stairs, moving faster and faster. As she passed Deng Ma, she didn’t hear a word.
“Chen Bo…” Xing Yun, out of breath, rushed to the car shed and said to Chen Bo: “I need a car now.”
