“Alright, don’t keep reading books all the time!” she added.
“Hmm, I know,” Qian Qi responded.
The room door closed gently, and Qian Qi sighed, picking up the reference book from the table again.
“Qian Qi?” Her mother’s voice came from outside the door shortly after.
“Hmm?” She responded.
“I’m going out to buy groceries. Be careful at home by yourself,” Xia Xinwei instructed.
Qian Qi said, “I know.”
Then came the sound of locking the door. After an indeterminate amount of time, the doorbell suddenly rang in the living room. Qian Qi looked at the wall clock and stood up to walk outside, wondering suspiciously who it could be. Their family rarely had visitors; could her mother have forgotten her keys?
She opened the door and was stunned when she saw who it was.
Chapter 30: Brother’s Lover
It was actually Xing Tuo!
Qian Qi came to her senses, her tone cold, “Why are you here? This is not a place for Young Master Xing to visit!”
Hearing her words, Xing Tuo’s lips pressed together unhappily, his gaze falling on her pale face.
“Why couldn’t I reach you on your phone?”
Qian Qi remembered the phone she had thrown somewhere and said casually, “Maybe it ran out of battery.”
“I heard you weren’t feeling well?”
Her tone was icy: “My health seems to have nothing to do with you!”
Xing Tuo suddenly laughed, his deep, slanting phoenix eyes showing a hint of wickedness: “You couldn’t be sick because of me, could you?”
Qian Qi frowned: “What are you talking about!”
“Are you home alone? Won’t you invite me in to sit?” He was about to step inside.
Qian Qi quickly blocked his path: “Sorry, it’s inconvenient. Please go back!”
Looking at the guarded Xia Qianqi, Xing Tuo shrugged indifferently: “Fine! I won’t go in.”
We’ll see each other at school tomorrow!”
“Bang!” Qian Qi immediately shut the door! Thinking to herself, it would be best if they never met again!
