“You’ll eat whether you want to or not!” Xing Tuo said firmly.
“I can’t eat!”
“I’ll feed you!” Xing Tuo picked up a spoon and brought food to her mouth.
Xia Qianxi frowned, saying: “No!”
“I’m leaving!” She stood up to go, but Xing Tuo gripped her wrist.
“What exactly do you want!”
Xing Tuo looked back at her: “You know what I want!”
Qianxi sat down angrily, shoving food into her mouth.
Xia Qianxi stood at the medical room’s entrance, hesitating whether to go in.
She wondered about Zhong Mingjie’s condition and whether he would hate her. She couldn’t imagine his angry face. “Ah!” she sighed softly.
Tang Qiqi had just walked out of the medical room’s door and saw Xia Qianxi standing there, instantly becoming angry: “When did you get here?”
“A while ago,” Xia Qianxi looked at her somewhat angry face and carefully asked: “How is he?”
Tang Qiqi glared at her, her tone a bit harsh: “Not dead yet!”
“Qiqi?”
Tang Qiqi looked at her worried face and sighed helplessly: “Multiple soft tissue injuries, concussion, no life-threatening condition, but he needs to be observed for a while.” She paused, then added: “You’d better not go in. His emotions are very unstable, and his mother is there.”
“Is his mother okay?” Xia Qianxi asked.
“Very angry and heartbroken, saying she definitely wants the school to give her an explanation.”
Xia Qianxi lowered her head sadly, saying nothing.
“Are you okay?” Tang Qiqi asked.
Xia Qianxi shook her head: “I’m fine.”
“Let’s go! It’s almost time for school to end.”
In the student council’s rest room, Xing Tuo and Lei Xi were browsing the latest car magazine. Shen Xinghao entered, and Lei Xi looked up to see Shen Xinghao’s usually calm face now solemn and cold.
“What’s wrong?” Lei Xi asked.
Shen Xinghao sat on the long sofa opposite them, giving Xing Tuo a deep look before saying: “I just came from a meeting with the school’s board of directors.”
Xia Qianyi stood nervously at the student council office door. Everything started because of her, so she would resolve it herself. She took a deep breath and knocked on the door.
Pushing the door open, although she was mentally prepared, she was startled by the oppressive atmosphere inside. Qianyi swallowed, looking at the suit-clad principal and board members, and of course, Shen Xinghao… and Zhong Mingjie’s mother. Qianyi thought she was an elegant and refined middle-aged woman, whose kind face was now covered with dark clouds.
Zhong’s mother suddenly stood up, walking to Xia Qianyi’s front, coldly sizing her up: “Are you Xia Qianyi?”
Before Qianyi could say “Yes,” Zhong’s mother’s palm was swinging towards her face. Qianyi stood motionless, taking the full force of the slap that nearly knocked her to the ground, had Shen Xinghao not caught her in time. Her pale face immediately showed five clear fingerprints, slightly swollen, with a thin line of blood at the corner of her mouth.
The office erupted in commotion, with the principal wiping sweat from his forehead, saying: “Madam Zhong, please calm down!” He was truly troubled.
He had heard this Xia Qianyi was a distant relative of the Xing family and didn’t dare to offend her.
“Calm down! How can I be calm! My son is still lying in the hospital! You shameless little fox! Seducing men everywhere! Aren’t you brave enough to admit it?” Zhong’s mother was now a mother who had lost all reason, her malicious expression fully displayed.
“Madam Zhong, please mind your status! Your current behavior of a shrew is not how an educated woman should act!” Shen Xinghao swept his sharp eyes, calmly helping Qianyi sit down.
So, I want to say…” He paused, his gaze turning cold: “Did you hit the wounds on her face?”
Zhong’s mother’s expression began to turn ugly: “What exactly are you trying to say?”
“Aren’t you the one who talks about reason and law? Then let me tell you! What about the wounds on her face? Who’s responsible? You’re a mother, and your son was beaten. You’re heartbroken! You’re angry! Isn’t that right?”
Chapter 35: Brother’s Lover
“You… what do you mean?”
“Don’t say anything…” Qian Chi looked at Xing Tuo, her eyes full of pleading.
“It’s not okay when your son is beaten! But you can casually beat someone for your son! And you don’t even need to apologize, is that right?” Xing Tuo stared her down.
Zhong’s mother’s face turned extremely ugly, her face flushed red, trembling with anger, unable to say a word!
After speaking, Xing Tuo pulled Xia Qian Chi and turned to leave, leaving the principal and board members bewildered by the sudden turn of events.
Shen Xinghao looked at their retreating figures and couldn’t help but reveal an admiring smile. Truly worthy of being the first of the three princes, Xing Tuo!
Wang Fengyi said: “Your mother seducing someone else’s husband is one thing, but I didn’t expect you to be even worse, not even sparing your own brother! Truly, the student surpasses the master!”
Wang Fengyi’s voice was like a thousand-year-old cold ice, each word striking Qianchi’s heart, chilling her to the bone. She didn’t know how she got out of the car. The biting cold wind cut her face like a knife, but she felt nothing. Xing Tuo and Wang Fengyi’s deep, beautiful phoenix eyes flashed rapidly before her. She didn’t know how she got home. Her mother seemed to have said many things, but she couldn’t hear a word. Then came dinner, and then she felt utterly exhausted.
Later, she seemed to have fallen asleep. It felt like an entire century had passed before she finally opened her eyes.
White walls, white bedsheets, white snow – everything was white, blindingly white.
And her mother’s pale face.
“Awake?
Xia Qianchi cleared her dry throat and looked at her mother’s haggard face, asking, “What happened? Where am I?”
She tried to sit up but felt completely weak.
Xia Xinwei helped her sit up: “This is the hospital. You had a high fever and have been unconscious for two days.”
“Fever?” She looked around the unfamiliar room, her head still feeling foggy.
“Yes.” Xia Xinwei poured a glass of hot water and brought it to her lips. She drank it all in one breath with her mother’s help.
“Slow down,” Xia Xinwei said. “The day before yesterday, you came home from school and started running a high fever, becoming delirious. When I tried to talk to you, you couldn’t hear a thing… I was so scared!”
“Oh, what did I say?” Hearing her mother’s words, Qianchi’s mind cleared a bit. She slowly recalled the previous events and remembered Wang Fengyi.
Had she said something she shouldn’t? Qianchi looked at her mother with some worry.
“Something about photos, misunderstandings, brother… and ‘impossible’ and such. I couldn’t hear clearly. Anyway, it was more or less like that, all jumbled up…”
Seeing her mother didn’t suspect anything, Qianchi secretly sighed in relief.
“By the way, I’ve already arranged your sick leave. Just rest these few days. The doctor said this illness might be due to excessive psychological pressure. Stop thinking about the college entrance exam. Your health is what matters, understand?” Xia Xinwei admonished.
“Okay,” Qianchi obediently replied, quietly gazing at her mother’s worried face, her nose slightly tingling.
Qian Zhi lowered her head and said: “I’m sorry, I’ve been afraid to look at you. Your mother, she…”
“I know,” Zhong Mingjie interrupted her: “My mother came to the school and said some harsh words to you, did something to embarrass you, right? She did this only because she was momentarily angry. Please forgive her!”
“Oh…” Hearing him say this, she felt embarrassed: “I know, I don’t blame her. Actually, it was all my fault…”
“No!” He interrupted her again: “It was Xing Tuo!” Mentioning Xing Tuo, his eyes were filled with anger: “He humiliated me, and he even insulted my mother! I will never forgive him!”
