Brother’s Lover

Wang Fengyi crumpled the scattered photos on the table into a ball and gripped them tightly in her palm. She stood up and walked to the window, grabbing the heavy curtains and sweeping them aside. Suddenly, bright light flooded the room. Her cold lips curved into a beautiful arc, and her beautiful phoenix eyes faced the dazzling sunlight, with the coldness hidden within now fully exposed.

A luxurious pure white sedan was driving smoothly along the coastal road. The wind was strong, and waves repeatedly slapped against the embankment beside the road, with spray flying everywhere. The beach was empty, and the sky was deep gray, with dense clouds quickly moving, suggesting an impending storm.

The car passed through the coastal road and turned into the streets of a small town, quietly stopping in front of a small building. The black window slowly lowered, and Wang Fengyi looked up at the slightly old two-story house. Outside the low wall, morning glory vines were densely tangled, with multicolored flowers hanging listlessly on thin branches.

Old Lady Guo had just opened the door when she saw a beautiful and noble middle-aged woman and three men in crisp suits standing outside.

“Is there someone named Xia Qianxi here?” One of the men asked, stepping forward at Wang Fengyi’s signal.

Wang Fengyi smiled slightly, “I’m her friend, here to see her.”

Old Lady Guo said, “Oh, I see. She just came back from class. She lives upstairs, please come in.”

Wang Fengyi instructed the three men behind her, “Wait here for me.”

When Xia Qianxi opened the door and saw the visitor, she was stunned. In the narrow corridor, Xia Qianxi and Wang Fengyi stood face to face, the atmosphere stiff.

Wang Fengyi’s gaze swept over her swollen waist, then lingered on her slightly fuller face due to pregnancy, and smiled faintly, “You seem to be doing quite well. Won’t you invite me in?”

Xia Qianxi looked back at her impassively, her face showing no emotion.

“Why are you here?”

The beautiful phoenix eyes narrowed slightly, “What do you think?”

Xia Qianxi felt an inexplicable unease rising from her heart.

“If there’s nothing urgent, please leave. My humble home is not suitable for guests,” Xia Qianxi’s tone was icy.
