Oh, I can write an autobiography later, called “The Suffering History of an Immortal.” Just remember not to use my real name—I’ll use Laozi’s name if I have to. I’ve always disliked him; might as well cause him some trouble.
“Zero, come and meet your master! Master Taibai is a hidden master who calculated that you would want to learn martial arts today and has come to take you as a disciple,” Dad’s tone was slightly excited.
This Master Taibai was no ordinary person. He had long been known as a hidden master on Phoenix Mountain, with many wanting to meet him but unable to find him.
Today, Master Taibai personally came to visit and not only knew everything about Zero’s past but had calculated that she would ask to become his disciple. He was truly a living immortal!
“Master, please accept Zero’s bow.” I ran up and knelt down, kowtowing respectfully to Taibai.
Kowtowing to an immortal, what do I have to lose?
“Hehe… good, good.” Taibai was moved to tears seeing this usually fierce woman so obediently kowtow to him. These are the pure tears of an immortal!
“Master Taibai…” Dad was stunned. Truly a legendary master with unpredictable thoughts and actions.
“I… I’m fine… Just… so happy… woo…” Taibai was incredibly excited. He had finally gained some face! It wasn’t in vain to live this life.
Dad was surprised, not expecting Zero to be so beloved by Master Taibai, and was even more shocked.
When it comes to a peerless master, who in this world could compare to your master? Ever since Feng Tianning’s master moved here half a year ago, he had understood the meaning of “there are people beyond people, and there are heavens beyond heavens.”
Recalling the day they first moved in:
“Hurry up! At this speed, by the time you arrive, people will be asleep!” A delicate child ran ahead with quick steps out of the forest. Interestingly, while other children wore longevity locks, this child had a small bell. Bouncing along, the bell jingled merrily, like a child from a New Year’s painting.
“Hey, hey… This immortal, uh, master can’t run anymore!”
“Following behind was an old man with white hair, white eyebrows, and a white beard, carrying fish in one hand, meat in the other, and a large bamboo basket on his back.
Feng Tianning curiously sized them up: Someone could actually break through this natural Seven Stars Soul-Locking Formation? An old man and a child? He secretly heightened his vigilance.
“Uncle, we just moved in and want to pay respects to the mountain master. We’ll be neighbors from now on!” The little girl tugged at his clothes, her bright eyes sparkling. Suddenly, she smiled adorably, her eyes curving into crescent moons.
Feng Tianning had roamed the martial world in his youth and made a name for himself, but in the jianghu, unexpected things happen. His family couldn’t escape that calamity. If… he might have had a granddaughter this size by now, which made him feel more affectionate towards this cute girl.
“This is a welcome gift, please accept it, uncle.” The little girl took the fish and meat from the old man’s hand and offered it forward.
Feng Tianning’s guard vanished, replaced by a black line: Were these two just dropping by?
Having been detached from worldly affairs for many years, he had almost forgotten what “dropping by” meant.”
He looked at them, somewhat bewildered, unsure whether to invite them in or thank them for the gift.
“Master?” A small figure emerged from the house. This was the child Feng Tianning had picked up at the mountain base two years ago, drawn by his determined gaze.
Barely two or three years old, wearing ragged clothes and having endured humiliation, his resilience remained unbroken. Feng Tianning was moved and brought him home, naming him Feng Qingyin, and carefully taught him.
Qingyin did not disappoint, possessing extraordinary comprehension and diligence.
“Wow—” The little girl’s eyes lit up. “Handsome guy, hello! I’m Hua Piaolin from Beijing. My parents are alive, we have land and many servants. Want to come back and enjoy good food with me?” She grabbed Qingyin’s hand.
Feng Qingyin looked utterly dumbfounded.
“Okay, silence means agreement. From now on, you’re my husband, Hua Piaolin’s. No looking at other women, no talking to other women. You must listen to your wife’s words, obey her commands, and follow her mistakes. Understood?”
After speaking, she looked at the still-dazed Feng Qingyin. “Silence means agreement…”
“I object!” Feng Qingyin finally reacted.
“Objection invalid.” The little girl laughed happily, planting a kiss on Qingyin’s face.
“Okay, stamped and sealed. You’re exclusively mine now, haha!”
Feng Tianning looked at this little devil, wondering how he had just found her cute. She was anything but cute.
After the little devil left, Feng Tianning and Feng Qingyin collapsed back-to-back on the ground, sighing in relief.
“Ah—my seven-leaf orchid!” Feng Tianning suddenly noticed that his carefully cultivated orchid was now reduced to three leaves. Even his usually calm self couldn’t help but cradle the precious plant and weep.
“You’re lying!” Feng Qinyin accused angrily.
“What’s going on? Are you fighting again?” Every time Ling’er came, she would make Qinyin furious. Poor Qinyin, always bullied by her. Feng Tianning looked at Feng Qinyin with sympathy.
“Uncle Feng, Ling’er found some really sweet grapes today and brought a bunch for Xiaoyin, but he even scolded me—wah—” I started crying on cue, more convincingly than an actor.
“Oh, Ling’er, don’t cry. Tell Uncle Feng why the grapes aren’t sweet anymore?” Feng Tianning quickly played the good guy.
“Because she tasted grapes from the left bank, but the ones given were from the right bank,” Taibai explained.
“Uh…” Feng Tianning felt a bit frustrated by this gift-giving logic.
“Then, why didn’t Ling’er give the grapes from the left bank?”
“The left bank grapes were all eaten up by someone being greedy,” Taibai said gleefully, indicating that the “someone” was me.
I glared back at him, and his arrogance instantly deflated.
Feng Tianning and Feng Qinyin looked bewildered.
“Uncle Feng, I want to learn martial arts from you,” I said, pulling on Feng Tianning’s beard and acting coquettishly.
“Well… Ling’er’s master…” Feng Tianning looked at Taibai, unsure. Isn’t Taibai a top-level master?
I buried my head in Feng Tianning’s shoulder and rolled my eyes at Taibai. This guy only knows how to use immortal arts to steal other people’s martial arts secrets. He knows nothing about the basics!
“I just want Uncle Feng to teach me!” I twisted my small body stubbornly. “Don’t you like Ling’er?” My little mouth pouted, about to cry.
“Good Ling’er, don’t cry. But if you want to learn supreme martial arts, you’ll still need your master,” Feng Tianning said, raising Taibai’s eyebrows.
“So Uncle Feng really doesn’t like Ling’er. Then, Ling’er will leave… This bunch of grapes, I’ll leave for Uncle Feng to eat, as a final memento.” I held out the grapes with my chubby hand.
Threat, this was absolutely blatant!
Feng Tianning trembled and finally gave in: “I’ll teach, I’ll teach, okay…”
He, Feng Tianning, had never been threatened like this before—by a three-and-a-half-year-old child!
Li Bai’s eyebrows furrowed. “Then you can only eat a little bit.”
“No problem, I’ll just eat a little bit.” I indicated half a millimeter on my pinky finger.
“This is a ‘Happiness Pill’ I crafted. After eating it, your body will be robust and your limbs agile. Even immortals won’t fall asleep; for mortals, I guarantee you’ll be jumping around!” Li Bai’s excitement grew, sounding almost like an advertisement.
“Will it be effective?” I eyed the empty bottle suspiciously.
