Crazy Smartphone – Part Three [Completed]

In this tangle of conflicting emotions and feelings, Xu Xiaoman finally met Lin Feng as he stepped out of his home. She simply couldn’t believe that Lin Feng was the true beneficiary of the Yubanshan disaster that had killed over a thousand people, or even the mastermind behind the calamity. Such an official, or rather speculative, narrative was something she couldn’t accept! What does it mean to be innocent but to possess something coveted by others, and why should anything beyond the state’s control be deemed a threat to the nation and its people? She learned firsthand what it means to turn one’s hand to make it rain or clear the clouds, and the necessity to destroy what cannot be used. Lin Feng was just a seventeen or eighteen-year-old boy; even if he had some unique abilities, could he really topple an entire nation?

She was utterly unconvinced that Lin Feng was the “god” the Lan family had painstakingly created. As Lin Feng emerged from his home, Xu Xiaoman was torn about whether to go through with such a heart-wrenching, emotion-conflicting task. Seeing Lin Feng’s vibrant and sunny demeanor, her heart ached, but she decided to personally test this kid to see if he was truly as evil and world-threatening as rumored.

The subsequent probing, or rather the collision of hearts, made Xu Xiaoman see the truth and listen to her heart. Just as she had made up her mind to part ways with her dear brother and bear this ordeal alone, she realized her efforts had merely been manipulated, part of someone else’s scheme. Thus, she erupted after enduring prolonged suppression and anger. Yet, this dead kid, this seemingly fearless idiot, actually agreed to go crazy with her, to cause a ruckus, with Lin Feng’s words, “Sis, I understand you,” utterly destroying her defenses. Many years ago, her beloved, born on the same day, month, and year, just an hour after her, had said those exact words to her as they parted. The same words from two completely different men ignited the fire in Xu Xiaoman’s heart in an instant. At that moment, her beloved and Lin Feng seemed to overlap. Years ago, her beloved’s sacrifice was also eerily similar in cause; he had been almost exiled to a certain death due to some trumped-up charges.
