Crushing Scum in the Spotlight

“What should we do, we can’t contact her,” Xiao Bai got into the car. “Where would she go?”

Xie Chi glanced at his phone display: “She’s constantly moving, heading towards the city center.”

“Let’s chase after her quickly,” Xiao Bai looked anxious, “If only I had insisted on following her.”

“She did this on purpose,” Xie Chi lowered his gaze, looking sorrowful. “She deliberately provoked Xue Chen Yan to help me.”

“She wants to deal with Xue Chen Yan but has no leverage, so she intentionally provoked him, hoping he would do something extreme,” Xie Chi realized this when he heard what Lin Xiao Man told him. “All for me.”

“Don’t worry,” Xiao Bai patted his shoulder, “You still have a tracker, we can track her.”

Xie Chi nodded and accelerated. When they arrived at Lin Xiao Man’s location, they found it was a private villa with several guards at the entrance, surrounded by thick walls, with surveillance cameras placed at intervals.

“It seems Xue Chen Yan was prepared,” Xiao Bai hit the car door, full of regret. “Damn it.”

“Maybe we should call the police,” he suddenly thought.

“The time is too short, and the police won’t handle it,” Xie Chi gazed at the villa, his hand gripping the steering wheel tightly.

“Are we just going to wait here? Who knows what might happen to Xiao Man inside?”

“No waiting,” Xie Chi retracted his gaze and started the car, “We’ll rush in.”

The car hadn’t gone far when Xiao Bai’s phone rang.

“Wait, it’s Ji Zhi Xian.”

Answering the call, the other side sounded urgent and flustered.

“Where is Xiao Man?”

Ji Zhi Xian had just landed and received a call from the personnel directly assigned to Lin Xiao Man, saying they had lost track of her.

Still thinking about meeting Lin Xiao Man soon, he suddenly became clear-headed.

He immediately called Xiao Bai and, based on the address sent, found the private villa they mentioned.

Lin Xiao Man only remembered her phone ringing, then seeing Xue Chen Yan approach her, cover her nose with something, after which she remembered nothing.

When she awoke, she found herself bound hand and foot, lying on a soft bed, with Xue Chen Yan sitting in front of her.

“You’re awake.”

“Where is this?” She was extremely calm, not struggling, just staring directly at the person before her. “Did you kidnap me?”

“As expected of Xiao Man, not panicking at all,” Xue Chen Yan smiled and moved close to her. “Or did you already know I would do this?”

“Aren’t you afraid of legal consequences?”

“Looks like you knew already. I didn’t expect my useless brother would tell you about this,” Xue Chen Yan gently caressed her face. “But it doesn’t matter. No one can interfere with us now.”

“He will come to rescue me.”

“No one can find this place,” Xue Chen Yan had planned this after Ji Zhi Xian’s warning. The house wasn’t under his name, and he had thrown away Lin Xiao Man’s phone. Even with Xie Chi’s skills, he couldn’t track her here.

“This place belongs only to us two,” looking at Lin Xiao Man glaring at him, he stroked her head gently, his expression tender. “Don’t be unhappy. Being with me is a joyful thing. You’ll understand soon.”

“But first, I need to clean you up,” he began to roughly tear at Lin Xiao Man’s clothes.

Lin Xiao Man, startled, rolled to the side to escape. Xue Chen Yan looked at her like a plaything, a playful smile on his lips.

“Although you’ve been touched by many men, it’s okay. Once I clean you up, you’ll be pure,” he lunged forward, tightly embracing Lin Xiao Man, his eyes growing crazy. “I love you so much. Why do you keep avoiding me?”

“Didn’t you say you liked me? Why this expression?” He gripped Lin Xiao Man’s face. The girl looked defiant and cold, which irritated him. “Are you lying to me?”

“You bad woman!” He slapped her. “Pretending to be innocent to deceive me, secretly flirting with other men behind my back.”

Lin Xiao Man was knocked to the ground by the slap, feeling dizzy, when he kicked her.

“Betraying me! Bitch!”

“Bang—”

The door was kicked open, and in her blurry vision, Lin Xiao Man saw two people walk in.

Ji Zhixian walked in and saw Lin Xiao Man in tattered clothes, instantly burning with rage. Xue Chen Yan was scared by his gaze and stood frozen, not daring to move.

He ignored the person he wanted to tear into a thousand pieces and instead approached Lin Xiao Man.

He took off his coat and embraced her tightly, his voice as soft as a spring breeze that had traveled through thousands of mountains: “Don’t worry, it’s over now.”

At this moment, Lin Xiao Man finally relaxed and reached back to hug him in return.

“How did you find me here?”

Xue Chenyan came to his senses, looking at the people before him in disbelief, “Impossible.”

“I placed a tracker on the necklace I gave to Xiaoman,” Xie Chi walked up to him and punched him hard, “Whatever you have to say, tell it to the police.”

Everyone came out of the villa, and the police arrived right on time.

Lin Xiaoman looked at the people before her, momentarily speechless.

“Don’t ever do something so dangerous behind my back again,” Ji Zhixian buried his head in her shoulder, his voice trembling.

Lin Xiaoman felt his hands shaking as he held her.

She couldn’t help but place her hand on his face, smiling to comfort him: “Don’t worry, it won’t happen again.”

During the time she was grabbed by Xue Chenyan, Lin Xiaoman hadn’t been afraid, but seeing Ji Zhixian’s vulnerable appearance made her suddenly scared – what would he do if something really happened?

“It won’t happen again,” she said softly, suddenly leaning in and kissing him, “Sealed with a kiss.”

Because of Ji Zhixian’s intervention, Xue Chenyan’s kidnapping incident gained attention. After confirming with Xie Chi, Lin Xiaoman let him appear in public and had internet trolls post about his resemblance to Xue Chenyan.

Later, it was revealed that Xie Chi was actually Xue Chenyan’s half-brother, and their father had left Xie Chi an inheritance before his death.

Lin Xiaoman confirmed that the online claims were true, and Xie Chi would reclaim what belonged to him through legal channels.

When everything settled and the TV drama wrapped up, Lin Xiaoman returned to Ji Zhixian’s home. Without her needing to explain, Ji Zhixian already knew her identity.

Ji Zhixian was not one for many words and didn’t ask much, which made Lin Xiaoman feel more at ease. However, she didn’t expect Ji Zhixian to become much more clingy. The person who was rarely home before now always stayed at home.

“Don’t you still have projects to discuss?”

“They’re all unimportant projects,” Ji Zhixian kept staring at Lin Xiaoman reading a script on the sofa, and the corners of his mouth would involuntarily lift whenever he thought about her being Tang Feifei.

Everything felt like a dream. The person he had been thinking about was now with him. His gaze was too intense for Lin Xiaoman to ignore. She put down the script and looked at the person beside her: “Then help me rehearse.”

Ji Zhixian had already received the script for “Frost Flower” from her father, and Lin Xiaoman was determined to get this role.

“My dear princess,” Ji Zhixian entered the scene, looking deeply at the girl before him, “May I invite you to dance?”

Lin Xiaoman gave him a contemptuous look: “You?” She was playing Frost Flower, a proud woman who was already famous in the entertainment industry.

Even Michael, the most famous and handsome man in the entertainment industry, she couldn’t care less about. Yet Michael was attracted to her at first sight and loved her despite her arrogance.

“I’m the most handsome man at this party. Don’t I qualify?” Ji Zhixian smiled slightly, extending his hand, “Hold my hand, and you’ll be the most noticed and envied woman at this ball.”
