“Was Xin’er good today? Did she listen to Mom?” Long Junhao wiped the sweat from his daughter’s face.
“Of course I was good! Dad, did you bring anything delicious?” The little glutton looked at Long Junhao, her face falling when she saw his empty hands.
“What does Xin’er want to eat?” He teased, “Look, red bean cakes, osmanthus cakes, mung bean paste. Want some?”
“Ah! I want all of them!” Xin’er’s face bloomed at the mention of the snacks.
“Shouldn’t you thank Dad?” He pointed to the corner of his mouth, indicating he wanted a kiss.
“Thank you, Dad!” Xin’er kissed Long Junhao.
“I’ll take some for brother to eat.” She ran off with the treats.
Long Junhao laughed as he watched his daughter walk away, then smiled at his wife waiting ahead. With a wife, son, and daughter, his life was complete!
Lan Lan looked at Long Junhao.
Since their return home, his smile had grown day by day, and he had become gentler, no longer the stern-faced figure everyone feared. This change was good, and she liked it!
“You’re back?” She met him, softly holding his hand.
“Hmm.” He responded as they walked into the room, wishing to accompany her forever.
Back in the room, Lan Lan poured him a cup of hot tea. He took a few sips, squinting and leaning back in the chair, exhausted from recent events.
Lan Lan gently massaged his shoulders with her slender fingers. She had thought being a housewife would be nice, but living a life of comfort felt boring. Unlike the modern world with its colorful life and various activities, here she could only design clothes and felt truly depressed.
Suddenly, Long Junhao opened his eyes, startling her.
“Right, Lan’er, I plan to go to Lin’an City in a few days. Do you want to come?” Long Junhao asked.
“Really? Of course I want to go. I’ve been stuck here and I’m going crazy!”
Lan Lan sat happily on Long Junhao’s lap, wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him. Finally, they could go out together.
“What about Xin’er and Zhen’er?” she asked.
“We have matters to attend to and will leave them at the Wang Mansion,” Long Junhao replied. “I’m afraid we won’t be able to take care of them.”
