Dancing Phoenix in Another World

She recalled a colleague mentioning her husband fainting during childbirth, and she didn’t want him to witness such a moment, knowing childbirth was a significant trial for women.

“Then you must work hard! I’ll be right outside. Call me if you need anything,” he urged, still worried.

“Listen to my instructions. Take a deep breath, push.” Following the midwife’s guidance, Lan’er coordinated with the baby’s movements. After about five attempts, the baby’s head finally emerged.

“Good, madam, one more push. The head is out. Push!” Lan’er felt something slip from her body, instantly feeling much lighter.

With a “slap” on the baby’s bottom, a loud cry rang out.

“Madam, it’s a boy. Don’t relax; there’s another one—push!” The midwife quickly wrapped the boy and placed him on the bed, ready for the next.

The second child arrived more easily. Another brief pain, a slip, and suddenly the excruciating pain was gone. She touched her flat stomach, her face radiating joy.

“Congratulations, madam! It’s been a long time since I’ve delivered twins! This little girl is beautiful; she’ll surely break many hearts!” the midwife exclaimed.

“Yue Xiang, tidy up and call the young master in,” Lan’er instructed as the midwife cleaned the babies.

She wanted to introduce the two adorable children to Ling Feng and share her joy with him.

Yue Xiang quickly tidied up.

Ling Feng was tormented by Lan’er’s cries, pacing at the door, wishing he could bear her pain. He realized the depth of his feelings for her; he would die for her without hesitation.

Just as he was about to go mad, he heard a loud cry.

“Chen Shu, she’s given birth!” Ling Feng patted Chen Shu’s shoulder, unable to hold back tears of joy.

“Good! Finally born, thank heavens!” Chen Shu and his wife were also tearfully overjoyed.

Another soft cry rang out, elevating everyone’s joy.

After a while, Yue Xiang finally opened the door.

Ling Feng took a few large steps and sat by the bed, touching Lan’er’s face and looking at her tenderly: “You’ve suffered.” Tears fell onto her delicate hand.

(Author’s note: There’s a saying about women giving birth: after giving birth, they forget the pain. It may hurt, but that pain only lasts a few hours, followed by the happiness of motherhood.)

Also, if you’re really afraid of pain, you can opt for a cesarean section. However, natural birth is better for both mother and child.

Lan’er touched his handsome face, noting their pale complexions: “Fool! It’s natural for women to give birth. Look, I’m fine! It’s twins! Go see them! Such adorable babies! I’m so happy!”

“Okay, let me see!” He looked at the two little ones side by side, pursing his lips at their cuteness. He gently picked one up; the newborns looked identical, making it hard to tell their genders. As he held the tiny baby, its weightlessness made him nervous, and sweat broke out on his forehead.

“Lan’er, he (she) is so small! And smiling at me!” He exclaimed at the baby’s innocent smile.

“Of course they’re small! I gave birth to twins! Don’t you think I’m amazing?” Lan’er raised her head proudly, her joy overshadowing her exhaustion.

“Yes, my Lan’er is the most amazing,” he gently pinched her nose.

“Ling Feng, will you be the godfather of the children?” Her pleading gaze met his.

“Of course I’ll be their father! Since their biological father hasn’t shown up, I’ll be their real dad!” He looked at her, puzzled at her lack of understanding.

A hint of melancholy crossed Ling Feng’s mind as he thought about the children’s biological father.

“Hehe, you choose names for the children,” Lan Lan said, understanding his feelings.

Ling Feng paused, then replied, “The son will be called Zhen’er, hoping he’ll be powerful and influential. The daughter will be Xin’er, hoping she’ll always be happy. What do you think?”

“Whatever you say! The names sound nice,” Lan Lan smiled.

“Rest now! Your task is to recover quickly. I’ll be here with you, okay?” Ling Feng adjusted her blanket as she closed her eyes and quickly fell asleep.

Two months later, under Ling Feng’s care, Lan Lan recovered. Her complexion was rosy, her skin tender, and she looked even more beautiful.

Since her near-miscarriage, he had suppressed his desires, prioritizing her well-being. Now, looking at her, Ling Feng could barely contain himself. Just seeing her made him aroused. Acting on impulse, he cupped her face and began kissing her.

The night has just begun.

In the blink of an eye, two years have passed. The two little treasures are exceptionally smart and mischievous, growing up tender and adorable.

Lan Zhen and Long Junhao look remarkably similar. Looking at him feels like a glimpse into Long Junhao’s childhood, but instead of Junhao’s cold expression, he wears a warm smile. Lan Xin has inherited Long Junhao’s features along with Lan Lan’s delicate beauty, showcasing phoenix eyes from both parents and a subtle dimple, making her incredibly cute and possessing a beauty that could topple kingdoms despite her young age.

Ling Feng initially wanted the children to take his surname and proposed it to Lan Lan. However, she hesitated due to an indescribable desire in her heart and ultimately did not agree. Ling Feng chose to focus on being a good father instead, caring for her and their two daughters.

As she watches Lan Zhen grow up, increasingly resembling Long Junhao and mimicking his mannerisms, Lan Lan feels a subtle pain. Her son constantly reminds her of shared moments with Long Junhao, transforming memories she thought were forgotten back into vivid recollections.

Leaning against the corridor pillar, Lan Lan smiles happily as she watches the two little treasures play and laugh in the yard.

She was content with her life—stable, with Ling Feng taking care of her, her shop doing well, and two adorable children. She didn’t want to consider other possibilities, just enjoying this small piece of the world.

Ling Feng often went out for a few days or more, but this time he had been gone for a month. Could something have happened? Her delicate eyebrows slightly furrowed.

“Mom, why hasn’t godfather come back?” Xin’er asked, tilting her head. She loved her godfather, who was kind and always brought them gifts.

“Mom, my sister and I really miss godfather. Can you tell him to come back soon?” Zhen’er added, looking at her with longing eyes.

“Don’t worry, godfather will be back in a few days. Be good, or he’ll be unhappy,” Lan Lan reassured them, stroking their heads.

“Let’s go to the market, okay?”

“Yay!!!” the two little ones cheered, raising V-signs in triumph.

Lan Lan laughed at her adorable children.

Having been with her, they learned many modern gestures and words that looked particularly funny and cute when performed by the children, often causing uncontrollable laughter.

“Zhen’er, go call Aunt Yue Xiang to go with us!”

With Yue Xiang joining, Lan Lan dressed in light gauze to avoid attracting attention. She had always tried to maintain a low profile when going out, which is why Long Junhao and others had been unable to find her for so long.

Holding each child’s hand, they left the gate. The children were excitedly calling out, constantly asking Lan Lan to buy things until they could carry no more and returned home.

“Daddy—” Before they arrived, the two little ones rushed forward. Ling Feng was waiting for them by the doorway.

Ling Feng spread his arms, hugging the two treasures and kissing them several times. Looking up at Lan Lan and seeing the smile in her eyes warmed his heart. For them, he would gladly sacrifice his life.

“Alright, darlings, let’s go home!” He picked up the two little ones, whispering to them as they walked.
