Xiao Yue helped remove her mistress’s clothes and carefully wiped her body. Noticing the bruises on her white skin, tears of guilt fell on her blue back.
It was all because she hadn’t served her mistress well.
“Xiao Yue, what’s wrong? Who bullied you? I’ll settle the score!” Despite her feelings, she didn’t want others to be unhappy because of her. Many had been scolded by Long Junhao because of her, which weighed heavily on her heart.
“I’m fine, mistress. As long as you’re okay, that’s all that matters. You can’t go out alone! If you do, you must take me with you!” Xiao Yue replied, her voice choked.
“Okay! I promise I won’t act alone again. Where is the Prince?” Lan Lan asked, worried about the consequences of the previous day’s events.
“The Prince hasn’t slept since last night and has been in the main hall. He just ate lunch a moment ago.” Xiao Yue spoke reverently, remembering the Prince’s anger from yesterday.
“Let’s go! Help me up!” Lan Lan urged Xiao Yue, summoning her strength. She knew Long Junhao must be upset but hoped he wouldn’t jeopardize his health seeking justice for her.
Thinking of Liu Jiaorong and her indulgence in violence for selfish desires, the thought was infuriating. Strike when the time is right. Although she lacked ability, her man did. She was clear about gratitude and vengeance; she wouldn’t turn the other cheek after being struck.
As she entered the main hall, only Lin Bo was present on one side, while Long Junhao’s cold demeanor filled the room.
However, a hint of tenderness appeared in Long Junhao’s eyes when he saw Lan Lan. He quickly embraced her and signaled Lin Bo and the others to retreat.
“Why aren’t you resting? How are you feeling?” His gaze was full of concern.
“I’m fine, but what about you? You need to rest! I don’t want you to collapse because of me!” Lan Lan said playfully.
“I still have matters to attend to. Be good, go rest. I’ll be done soon,” he replied gently.
“No! If you don’t go, I’ll stay here with you!” she insisted.
They locked eyes for a moment until he finally sighed: “Alright! I’ll accompany you!”
