Lan Lan examined the items and took interest in a jade ring. Its emerald green hue emitted a soft, flowing light that was very inviting. Upon closer inspection, she noticed a small “Lan” character carved inside. She turned her head, looking at him questioningly.
“Wife, it seems we’re quite in sync. I deliberately placed it for you to choose, wanting to see if we’re of the same mind,” Long Junhao said happily as she picked up the ring.
He cleared his throat, knelt on one knee, and with a devoted expression, said: “My dear Lan Lan, will you marry me?”
Such a gesture would fill any woman with joy.
“I do!” Lan Lan exclaimed happily.
After he slipped the ring onto her finger, she embraced and kissed him, whispering, “Thank you!”
Their colorful life was just beginning.
While everyone applauded the Rui Prince’s mansion finally having a mistress, one person in the corner felt melancholy. Long Feng reflected on his deep love for her, now fully realizing she had found happiness elsewhere. Despite his heartache, he sincerely wished her well and vowed to continue protecting her.
While silently blessing Lan Lan, she pulled Long Junhao to the front. Seeing this fairy-like woman, his eyes gradually became moist. He coughed to hide his discomfort and softly smiled, saying: “Blessings to you!”
Lan Lan observed this gentle man, usually comforting but today hurt by her happiness with Long Junhao. She sighed inwardly, realizing that while she was joyful, his heart was sorrowful because he was not the one marrying her. He had silently done so much for her, and while she was deeply grateful, she felt unable to repay his love. Love cannot be divided, so she hoped for a chance to repay him in the future.
“Long Feng, if not for your life-saving grace, there would be no me and the Prince today. Great kindness needs no words of thanks. Today, I just want to tell you: Thank you!” Lan Lan said, tears nearly overflowing. She held back her tears, gave Long Feng a deep look, and pulled Long Junhao to bow slightly to him.
Love is sometimes not possession but letting the loved one be happy. As long as there are blessings, that is enough.
