Lan Lan always dreaded entering the imperial palace. The oppressive atmosphere was suffocating.
Although she was a foreign enterprise manager adept at navigating complex social dynamics, she preferred staying in the Wang Mansion or shopping with Long Yi rather than being in the envied palace.
At exactly midnight, the new year was welcomed amidst cheers. Brilliant fireworks soared into the sky, creating a dazzling display.
A new year had arrived. Like a daughter married far away, she silently blessed her parents, hoping they were well.
Returning to the Wang Mansion, the two were still entangled before embracing to sleep. In her dream, she saw her mother, sister, and surprisingly, even her father. The three of them were harmoniously reunited at a dinner table. If her father truly became older, he might become more humane, and her mother would have a companion in her later years. A smile gradually spread across her lips at this thought.
On the second day of the lunar new year, Long Junhao accompanied Lan Lan to move into Yile Garden, with Long Feng and Xiaoyue joining them.
Yile Garden, located in the imperial palace near the north gate, featured a picturesque landscape. Yile Small Lodge was designed according to Lan Lan’s preferences, complete with a small bridge over flowing water and a lake filled with her favorite lotus flowers. She truly loved it.
Entering the house, the decor was simple and bright, featuring a main house, a large hall, and three smaller rooms on the side. At the end, there was a small kitchen, fully equipped with pots, pans, and utensils. This was definitely the great-grandfather’s idea. Thinking of her own gluttonous appearance, she couldn’t help but laugh.
“Are you that happy to leave me?” Long Junhao’s eyes darkened as he watched Lan Lan’s joyful expression. He wondered how he would endure the long night without her.
“No! It’s just a few days! In a few days, I’ll still be yours,” Lan Lan playfully hit him.
“I was just thinking about great-grandfather, that glutton. Look, he has prepared everything for his daughter-in-law to showcase her skills! If I don’t take advantage of this strength, wouldn’t I be letting myself down?” Lan Lan pointed at the kitchen items and giggled.
“You! Always so crafty,” Long Junhao gently tweaked her nose.
