Dancing Phoenix in Another World

“Yue Xiang, let’s check the fabric shop. With so many orders, I need to complete some before giving birth,” Lan Lan said, walking quickly to the silk store.

While walking, they were nearly hit by two riders. Lan Lan looked back and recognized a familiar silhouette, causing her to burst into tears, memories flooding her mind.

“Madam, are you okay?” Yue Xiang asked, thinking she was scared.

“I’m fine!

Lan Lan wiped her tears and took a deep breath, forcing a difficult smile.

Yue Xiang felt that the lady was very capable and kind, treating them not as servants but as friends. Whenever anyone faced difficulties, she would lend a helping hand. When Yue Xiang learned of the lady’s mother’s illness, she was given two gold coins and a month’s leave with full pay. This kindness motivated her to serve the lady well in the future.

The lady was not only beautiful but also humble, earning the affection of all. However, beneath her amiable smile was a subtle sadness, only dispelled when the castle master returned. They felt powerless to help her.

As Lan Lan was lost in thought, she noticed a horse stop and look back at her. Panicked, she ran and hid behind a pillar, unable to face them after being away for so long.

Long Feng pulled the reins, sensing someone watching him. He turned his horse around but found no familiar figure on the street.

Yet the feeling was strong enough that he shook his head, certain it was just an illusion from his recent preoccupations.

He turned his horse and continued pursuing, unaware that his departure would cause Lan Lan to suffer even more.

Finally releasing a heavy breath, Lan Lan emerged from behind the pillar, realizing she was covered in cold sweat and felt extremely tired.

“Yue Xiang, let’s go back! We won’t buy anything today. I’m exhausted!” Lan Lan said weakly.

Yue Xiang, puzzled since they were almost at the shop, noticed Lan Lan’s pale face and cold sweat. Concerned she might faint, she asked, “Are you feeling unwell? Your complexion looks terrible!”

“I’m fine, let’s go!” Lan Lan smiled weakly. Yue Xiang, just 15 and from a poor family, was mature and diligent in her work at the mansion. The lady appreciated her intelligence.
