Early Spring Journey

Jun Ye’an watched the young girl biting her lip, almost in tears, as the fine steel knife grazed her tender neck, drawing a few drops of bright red blood. Yet, she slowly shook her head, signaling him not to do it. The most famous sword in the martial world fell to the ground, its edge sharper than starlight. Jun Ye’an extended his right hand, expressionless, “If you want this arm, come take it yourself.”

In the next chapter, Chuxia screamed, followed by a beast’s roar echoing through the forest. A huge shadow leaped forward, knocking the man to the ground. Jun Ye’an picked up his sword again, witnessing the leopard mother roaring as she bit through the man’s throat and then turned towards Chuxia. He shouted, “Drop the cub!” Chuxia, already frightened, threw the cub away, and the young master, pulling her into his embrace, quickly retreated. The leopard mother, having found her cub, roared a few times in warning before leaving.

Now, only He Bucompromised was left. The Yuyang Sword, still dripping with blood, had stained He Bucompromised’s clothes. Jun Ye’an, looking at him, said softly, “From the death of Master Huifeng twenty years ago to today, how many heroes have fallen to your Tian Gang assassins? I’ve spent over five years gathering your information, and only today have I achieved my goal.” He Bucompromised coughed up blood, giving a tragic laugh, “The victor writes the history, why say more!” Jun Ye’an, without further words, thrust the sword into He Bucompromised’s chest. Struggling, He Bucompromised spat out blood, giving a low, eerie laugh until his last breath, whispering, “Jun Ye’an, do you know how your father died?” Jun Ye’an’s expression changed, but He Bucompromised was already dead.
