Four Kings and One Queen 2

The large phoenix crown on my head wasn’t as heavy as I thought, and it was incredibly gorgeous, despite the many ‘chopsticks’ in my hair. The clothes were nice too; the long, slightly loose robe concealed my slightly protruding belly.

The robe was mainly in imperial yellow and deep red, with exquisite embroidery featuring flying phoenixes and auspicious clouds. I wondered—how long would it take to embroider something like this? Truly impressive.

The palace maids bowed and retreated. It seems the time for the wedding ceremony is approaching. I suddenly felt inexplicable excitement, mixed with nervousness. This isn’t my first time preparing for marriage; the last time with Xiao Chengyue was also a wedding.

To be precise, the previous ‘marriage’ and this one are incomparable. The last was to escape, while this time, it’s voluntary, and with someone I truly love.

My chest was like a little rabbit, ‘thump thump thump’ beating wildly. With a nervous heart, I was carried by the matchmaker to the high hall.

“Bow to heaven and earth!” The officiant shouted, and Shu Yang and I bowed towards the door, our hearts filled with sweetness. Little did anyone know that a group of people on the roof was ruining the atmosphere…

“Wow, don’t push me, I can’t see!” The old Wudang master grumbled, “There are only a few holes, what can you do?” The old Kunlun grandfather twisted his head and muttered, then turned back to look at the holes.

“Amitabha, it seems the little girl is growing up,” the old bald monk sighed, then was punched away by the unhappy Wudang grandfather. “Wow, my granddaughter is so beautiful!” Grandmother Ning’s eyes turned into heart shapes. “Who’s your granddaughter? She’s clearly mine!” Grandfather Yue said childishly. “What are you arguing about!”…

“Huh? It’s strange, why do I feel like there are sounds on the roof?” The guard outside was frustrated. “Haven’t you cleaned your ears in days? It’s clearly the sound inside.” Guard B rolled his eyes at Guard A, and Guard C said: “Stop arguing, or you’ll lose your lives if discovered!”…

At the wedding, three of them propped up their chins, looking jealously at the couple getting married.
