Future Phone – Part Two

“Welcome,” stepping onto the red-carpeted stairs, two hostesses had already opened the glass door. As Hao Yunyang entered, a woman in a dark red uniform, around thirty, holding a walkie-talkie, approached and smiled, asking, “May I help you?”

Hao Yunyang was quite familiar with such places and immediately shook his head, then turned to a nearby hostess and asked, “Which floor is Room 606?”

Hao Yunyang had never tried such services, but having been in the catering industry, he had heard about such things.

“Come in,” a middle-aged woman’s voice responded from inside.

Hearing the response, Hao Yunyang pushed open the door. It was a small private room, but elegantly decorated. In the somewhat dim light, a round table covered with a gold tablecloth was set, with four cold dishes already placed on the glass turntable.

Entering and looking up, he saw Nie Meiying sitting directly opposite the door, wearing a friendly smile. Seeing Hao Yunyang enter, she stood up and said, “Mr. Hao, you’re quite punctual.

Quite bewildered, but with a smile on his face, Hao Yunyang sat down in a chair three seats away from Nie Meiying and said with a laugh: “Mayor Nie, this invitation of yours has me feeling somewhat apprehensive. I wonder what Mayor Nie…”
