God’s Code

Zhang Ming mentioned the name of that Weimu Star adventurer, which was quite a long string. It was clear this adventurer was very famous on Weimu Star; Zhang Ming’s face showed reverence as he spoke the name. “His name starts with a sound like the English ‘k’; you can call him K. K and all the other adventurers set out, some returned midway, and the rest were never heard from again; we thought they had all perished. In recent years, our space technology has further improved, allowing for relatively safe travel to the solar system. We sent out a scout ship to test the journey; if there were no issues, the ban would be lifted. I am a member of that scout team; we established a temporary space base about one light-year outside the solar system, initially planning to observe closely for a while before entering. However, not long after the base was established, we received a message from K.”

“The burst of high-energy particles on December 26th?” I blurted out. Zhang Ming nodded, “Yes.”

“That’s impossible, you’re a light-year away from the solar system, which means you would only receive the signal a year later.”

“Oh, your research on high-energy particles is still in its infancy; even your terminology suggests that. In fact, particles have many classifications, and their energy can vary greatly. When some particles carry energy beyond a certain threshold, they can regularly create micro-wormholes and pass through them, thus their actual speed far exceeds the speed of light.”

This explanation made sense; interstellar travel without proper communication methods would be like a kite without a string. “K’s message was short, but it shook the entire Weimu Star.”

“Did he decode the God’s Code?” I asked, my eyes wide, staring at Zhang Ming.

“I deciphered the God’s Code at the Temple of Heaven, but I failed in becoming a god.”
