Hello, Bad Boss

She returned home, intending to ride her bicycle, but Ye Lishe blocked her, insisting on driving her instead.

Following his kindness, and actually hoping he would accompany her, they set out together to the hospital.

After seeing the doctor, they learned that Junhao’s condition had some minor issues, which extended his dialysis treatment. The doctor even suggested sending Junhao to a better-equipped hospital for treatment, with a kidney transplant being ideal. However, the waiting time and transplant opportunities were equally unpredictable. She suddenly felt bitter – the situation wasn’t good at all.

Quickly thanking the doctor, they went to various possible locations, but couldn’t find the people they were looking for. Lin Weiwan’s anxiety and worry had reached its peak.

Unable to maintain her strong facade, she became lost and bewildered.

“Let’s go home and wait. Maybe they’ll return later. Running around like this won’t help,” Ye Lishe said.

After spending one to two hours searching and asking fifteen to twenty people without finding any news of her family, Ye Lishe thought she must be feeling incredibly low. He was glad he had accompanied her.

Directionless, she could only follow his suggestion to return home.

As soon as the car was parked, she saw her mother and brother walking home, carrying bags of groceries and chatting.

“Mom, Junhao, where have you been? I almost called the police because I couldn’t find you when I got home!” Lin Weiwan was a bit angry. She had come all the way from Taipei to Kaohsiung to see them, couldn’t they just stay home?

But thinking about her mother taking her brother out for treatment, she dropped her complaints.

“Call the police? Speaking so loudly the neighbors will die laughing?” Lin’s mother laughed.

“Where did you go? Why did you buy so many vegetables? And… a cake?” Lin Weiwan stared intensely at the cake in Junhao’s hand. Heaven knew it was her favorite flavor – Black Forest!

“Sister, you’re back!” Junhao called out shyly.

She patted his head and teased him about looking fine.

“Wasn’t it your brother who insisted yesterday that today is your birthday? He wanted me to call you, make sure you come home, and cook your favorite foods. After working so hard outside, you need to come home and be taken care of.”

Her birthday? Her birthday?
