Lost Youth – When Love Lies

“Will there be pain in the later stages?”

“The physical reactions will mainly be blindness. In the final stage, there might be dizziness and drowsiness, but mainly it will affect his mental state.”

Fang Tiancheng let out a long, trembling sigh. “I understand. I’ll consider how to approach him.”

Fang Yuzhe went home and told Xia Yuluo, “I went to the hospital today.”

Xia Yuluo dropped the glass board she was wiping.

“What did the doctor say?” Yuluo asked, not daring to look at him.

“Nothing much, just said I don’t take care of my eyes, and the optic nerve is damaged—I haven’t even used my eyes much. How strange!”

Xia Yuluo finally breathed a sigh of relief. “Everyone’s physique is different. Just take good care of them in the future!”

I Went to the Hospital

“I went to the hospital, and the doctor said my optic nerve was damaged—” As light entered through the corner of his eye, he slowly opened his eyes and saw his father’s face, and then he knew something big was about to happen—”Dad, are you crying?”

Fang Tiancheng had been delaying his son’s return home, afraid to face this cruel moment. Unexpectedly, reality was more brutal than he imagined. Fang Yuzhé went blind as soon as he entered the room, forcing him to face the unchangeable reality that his time was running out.

“Dad, my illness is serious, isn’t it?”

Fang Tiancheng nodded slightly.

“Will I go completely blind?”

He couldn’t bear to nod, using silence as confirmation.

Just knowing he would be totally blind, Fang Yuzhé was devastated. His expression slowly transformed from surprise to despair—”What’s wrong with my eyes?!”

“It’s not an eye problem. There’s something growing in your brain, pressing on the nerves.”

“Isn’t that a brain tumor?”

Fang Tiancheng painfully nodded again, “It’s growing in an area dense with nerves. There’s no way to operate.” He could barely continue speaking, the pain causing tears to flow uncontrollably. When Fang Yuzhé asked, “Am I going to die?” he lowered his head, tears dropping in streams.

He hated his own weakness.
