Lost Youth – When Love Lies

“My grandfather was in the Red Army, so of course it’s my business!”

The grudge between the invading Japanese army and the Eighth Route Army reignited in the third generation.

“Fine, Xia Yuluo, you’re brave. We’ll see about this!”

“Bring it on, who’s afraid?” Yuluo muttered under her breath.

“Xia Yuluo, Kobayashi Eiko is a tyrant at Xuyang High,” her fly-like deskmate kindly warned her.

Yuluo clenched her fist and hit the desk, “The New China has been established. How can we let Japanese people rule in China?”

Was he also being ostracized by the people in this terrible school, just like her? If that was the case, she would like to make friends with him.

Throughout the entire class, Xia Yuluo stared at him without blinking. When he scored, she was happy; when he occasionally missed, she sighed in disappointment. He was merely practicing, yet she watched with great interest.

He wasn’t in a hurry to retrieve the ball, instead taking a water bottle from under the basketball rack and gulping it down. He then poured the remaining water on his head and shook it vigorously.

Xia Yuluo watched the basketball approaching her, feeling an impulse to help him pick it up. But someone was faster than her. Several girls rushed to grab the ball, and the one who caught it was ecstatic, running happily towards the boy.

The boy nodded, a slight smile at the corner of his mouth, seeming both pleased and disdainful.

Yuluo could now see his appearance clearly – such a handsome face, looking like a movie star, completely unlike the ordinary people around him.

“the girl, clearly trying to flirt, asked.

Fang Yuzhe held the ball with one hand, maintaining his ambiguous expression, and replied, “Next Wednesday.” His voice was low and masculine.

“I’ll come cheer for you!” the girl added.

“Thank you,” he responded politely, without any extra words.

Xia Yuluo watched his back as he walked towards the teaching building, her heart in turmoil, unable to calm down.
