One Night of Indulgence

Hu Yannan led the charge, a large knife in hand, rushing into the panicked crowd and fighting fiercely. The sounds of weapons clashing, horses neighing, and wounded wailing filled the air. Merciless killing had begun. Shan Xiaoya had never seen real killing, especially such a horrific scene. Her eyes stared fearfully at the slaughter outside, her heart sinking. Shen Zhonglei reluctantly covered her eyes, hugging her slightly trembling shoulders. Hu Yannan’s cold-blooded and ruthless nature was fully displayed. The lives of his enemies were like ants in his eyes, disappearing in an instant. Outside the forest was a mess, blood and bodies everywhere. The merciless killing intensified. The scene was everywhere. The merciless killing finally came to an end. At this moment, Hu Yannan sat on horseback, imposing and murderous. His blood-red eyes flashed with a bloodthirsty light. Coldly looking at the carnage, his mount trampled through the bodies. A surviving Manyi soldier looked at him in terror, legs shaking uncontrollably, the knife in his hand hanging limply.

Hu Yannan’s eyes didn’t blink as he raised and dropped his knife, a bloody head rolling to the ground. Blood splattered everywhere. Hu Yannan stared at Shen Zhonglei and Shan Xiaoya, expressionlessly telling his subordinates: “Clean up the battlefield, leave no survivors.” Then he spurred his horse and rode away. A large number of Jin Guo soldiers tidied up the gruesome battlefield.

In the distance, dark clouds approached, accompanied by a heavy rain, as if heaven mourned the slaughter. Shen Zhonglei hugged Shan Xiaoya’s shoulders, hiding in the grass until all soldiers had left, then pulled the slightly trembling Shan Xiaoya out. They were completely soaked by the rain. The forest outside had returned to its previous beauty, washing away the traces of killing. Shan Xiaoya opened her eyes fearfully, surprisingly not seeing the terrifying scene. She blinked in disbelief, the scene before her as beautiful as before. She looked at Shen Zhonglei questioningly. Could everything have been just an illusion?

Shen Zhonglei looked at Shan Xiaoya seriously, comfortingly patting her shoulder, gently saying: “Everything is over, let’s go! Find a place to shelter from the rain.” Hearing this, Shan Xiaoya felt sad for those who died and for witnessing such cruelty.
