One Night of Indulgence

Hu Yannan looked coldly at Man Hanting and threatened, “This is my wife, living an extremely exciting life every day… worse than death… Her life will become even more exciting. I’ll make her unforgettable.”

Hu Yannan coldly sneered. “A weak woman? I never saw her as a weak woman, I only saw her as an object of revenge. Unfortunately, this is just the tip of the iceberg. In the future, she will live in hell, and I will make her experience the cruelty of hell, making her wish she were dead. And the person who will make her suffer all this is you – Man Hanting.”

Shan Xiaoya understood that all of this was caused by the hatred between Man Hanting and Hu Yannan, and she was just a sacrificial victim of their animosity. How could this be? Shan Xiaoya suddenly stood between Hu Yannan and Man Hanting. Her eyes were filled with anger, not caring about the consequences that would worsen her foot injury…

She shouted at them, “Why drag me into your hatred? I have no grudge against you!” Then she stared at Man Hanting, “You arbitrarily made me a princess, only to be a pawn to satisfy your personal desires. Are you happy seeing me end up like this? Are you so pleased to build your happiness on others’ suffering?”

Man Hanting guiltily lowered his head. “Listen to me, this is not what I wanted. I didn’t know what would happen later…”

Shan Xiaoya interrupted him decisively, “Enough, you don’t need to explain. We were never siblings, nor do we have any blood relation. From now on, we’ll go our separate ways.” Then she turned to Hu Yannan, “General, it seems you’ve mistaken the target of your revenge. I have nothing to do with him. We just happened to meet by chance. He made me a princess, and you married me. This is all just a farce, and now that it’s clear, the farce should end.”

Hu Yannan looked at Shan Xiaoya in disbelief. “What are you saying? You’re not his biological sister?”

“Yes, my friend accidentally saved him, but my friend miraculously disappeared. He made me a princess, and then you married me. It’s that simple.”

Hu Yannan looked questioningly at Man Hanting. “Is what she’s saying true?”

Man Hanting nodded guiltily. “Yes, everything she said is true. I didn’t expect you would go to such lengths to marry her and direct all your hatred towards her. If I had known, I wouldn’t have brought her to your Golden Sun Country.”

Hu Yannan, hearing that she was not Man Hanting’s sister, suddenly understood. He blocked Man Hanting’s gaze with his body and urgently said, “In that case, please leave. My general’s mansion does not welcome people from Manyi Country.”

Shan Xiaoya quickly called out to the departing Man Hanting.

“Wait a moment. After causing me so much suffering, don’t you think you owe me something?”

Man Hanting stopped and met Shan Xiaoya’s eyes. Shan Xiaoya calmly said, “I hope you can give me a passage token. With it, I can freely enter and leave Manyi Country. Also, I hope you can help me fully when I need your assistance. That day you sent him back inexplicably, I always felt you might know a way for me to return. I hope you can help me find a way back.”

Man Hanting lowered his eyelids to hide his flickering gaze. “I don’t know what method you’re talking about, but I can give you a passage token. You can come to Manyi Country anytime, and I will do my best to help you.” He took out a golden token from his chest, intending to hand it to Shan Xiaoya, but Hu Yannan quickly intercepted it.

Man Hanting looked at the wary Hu Yannan, then at the injured Shan Xiaoya, and sighed helplessly before turning to leave the general’s mansion…

Hu Yannan came to the hall and reported his fist to the Jing King. “Your Highness, this subordinate has failed to welcome you from afar. Please do not take offense at my discourtesy.”

The Jing King, who was originally seated, stood up when he saw Hu Yannan arrive. He said perfunctorily, “This king came uninvited. I hope General Hu Yannan will not mind the disturbance.”

Hu Yannan hurriedly said, “How could that be? Your Highness’s visit brings glory to my humble residence. It is my honor.”

Please, take the main seat.” As he spoke, he gestured toward the inner hall. The Jing King did not stand on ceremony and strode to sit in the principal seat.

Hu Yannan called the servants, “Brew the Dragon Well tea and serve it to the Jing King.”

“Yes!” Before long, servants brought two cups of tea and placed them on the table, simultaneously removing the previous tea served to the Jing King.

“Your Highness, please have tea.”

The Jing King picked up the tea cup but did not bring it to his mouth. Instead, he looked longingly toward the hall’s exterior. Disappointedly withdrawing his gaze, he said to Hu Yannan, “General Hu, I heard you got married. I specially came to congratulate you. Where is the new madam?”

Hu Yannan quickly stood up and cupped his fists to the Jing King. “Your Highness, my wife is feeling somewhat unwell and is currently resting.”

The Jing King, hearing that the woman he had been thinking about was ill, suddenly put down his tea cup and stood up. He asked anxiously, “What illness does she have? Is it serious? Let me send the royal physician to examine her?”

Hu Yannan looked at the somewhat nervous Jing King, frowning in confusion. The Jing King then realized his uncontrolled emotions, lightly coughing to cover his embarrassment. “Hmm! I just want to help you.”

Hu Yannan again cupped his fists to the Jing King.

“Thank you for your concern. My wife’s illness is not serious and will recover in a couple of days.”

The Jing King was relieved to hear this. “That’s good. I won’t disturb you. Farewell!” As he spoke, he walked toward the hall’s exterior. Hu Yannan sincerely invited, “Your Highness, please stay and have dinner before leaving. I have already dispatched people to prepare.”

A hint of disappointment appeared in the Jing King’s eyes, and he said with an unsatisfactory expression, “No need to trouble yourself. Treating the new madam’s illness is more important. When she recovers, I will come again!” As he spoke, he had already walked out of the hall, with his guards following him out of the general’s residence.

Hu Yannan hurriedly followed the Jing King, seeing them out of the general’s residence.

Jing Wang Ye’s days of longing turned into a trembling anticipation, gradually moving closer to the bedside. Looking closely at her on the bed, ripples stirred in his heart. Shan Xiao restlessly turned over, the blanket slipping off her body. Her bare feet were completely exposed, and below her porcelain-like calves were a pair of horrifically wounded feet.

The top of her small foot appeared normal, but moving downward, the sides and sole were covered with large and small circular wounds. The injuries were not fully healed, still seeping blood and pus. Jing Wang Ye looked at her foot wounds with heartache, unable to understand how she had become like this. Suddenly, Shan Xiaoया’s eyelashes fluttered slightly, and she let out a moan, seeming on the verge of waking. Jing Wang Ye quickly pressed a point on her body, causing her to fall back asleep. He gazed at her sleeping face for a long time, his heart filled with both joy and sorrow. He was joyful to finally see the person he had missed for so long, but sorrowful to see her so severely injured. Jing Wang Ye took out a royal-exclusive trauma ointment from his chest, gently lifting her small foot and carefully applying the medicine to her wounds, his heart tightening at the horrific injuries. These were clearly blisters formed by continuous abrasion, repeatedly rubbed until they broke open – such a cruel torture, how could it be inflicted on her?
