One Wife, Multiple Husbands – Part One

Zhang Gui felt a chill in his heart, with fine sweat beading on his forehead, his body trembling slightly.

“I can also make you eat a penetrating poison that will rot you from the intestines outward, bit by bit, until your entire body rots, only then can you be completely liberated.” Ye Hui’s voice was soft, yet carried a chilling coldness, as if she had already fed him the poison.

“Devil, you are a devil…” Zhang Gui murmured. Though he did some bad things, they were minor compared to Ye Hui’s ruthlessness, which he didn’t have the courage for.

“Get up quickly and sit obediently on the chair. When Mother comes in, if you provoke me, you’ll suffer.” Ye Hui suddenly said coldly, walking over to push open the door. In her previous life, her older brother was a prison guard who knew all sorts of strange tactics for dealing with prisoners. She didn’t have the courage to actually kill someone, but her intimidation skills were extraordinary.

“Your method is effective for dealing with such a scoundrel.” Qin Yuhang looked at his newlywed wife with complete satisfaction, wondering how he never noticed how outstanding she was before. He reached out to hand her a teacup, noticed it was cold, and poured a fresh hot one for her.

Ye Hui didn’t like tea’s taste, but to be polite, she took a couple of sips.

When mealtime came, the servants laid out the prepared dishes. Lady Ye returned to the hall, surprised by the peaceful scene.

“Mother, are you thirsty? Guier will pour tea for you.”

“Mother, are you hungry? Guier will serve you rice.”

“Sister, this steamed carp is very fragrant, try some.”

During the meal, Zhang Gui completely changed his usual behavior, acting like a filial good child.

Lady Ye was greatly surprised, even forgetting to pick up her chopsticks.

The early spring weather was not like summer, and darkness fell early. After dinner and some conversation, Zhang Gui respectfully bid farewell to his mother, not even daring to shrink his neck under Ye Hui’s scrutinizing gaze.

Only after leaving the Ye family’s gate did he feel alive again. Thinking about the aunt inside, he wondered how her previously weak personality had become so terrifying today. Recalling the abuse he suffered inside made him shiver from the bottom of his heart.
