The middle-aged man asked Xia Bing where the water was, and she pointed to one side. She quietly watched these two men, feeling like they were treating the place as their own home.
Xiaho Zun took the medicine brought by his subordinate, feeling much better, then gave some instructions and had the man leave.
“Your people have left,” Xia Bing reminded him.
Xiaho Zun now looked directly at this woman – wasn’t she the one who borrowed money from him in the afternoon? Looking at her expression, she seemed very unwilling to have him stay.
“Hmm, I’m hungry.”
Xia Bing’s eyes widened – was this Xiaho Zun treating her like a servant?
“Although I borrowed you money, I’m not your household servant.” Xia Bing pursed her lips and tossed some things to Xiaho Zun, “Eat if you want.”
Occupying the Nest
Xiaho Zun raised an eyebrow, looking at the packages in front of him, letting him eat these.
Xia Bing saw he wasn’t eating, so she picked up a package herself, opened it, “This is quite tasty, convenient and quick.”
Xiaho Zun understood this woman completely – she was simply a lazy woman, and whoever married her would be in for bad luck.
Xia Bing saw the man frowning while eating snacks, and found his expression utterly amusing.
“How did your people know you were here?” Xiaho Zun had apparently never been to her ‘humble abode’ before.
“You’re really slow to realize.”
Xia Bing could hear his sarcasm. “Wasn’t I threatened? You still haven’t told me how your people knew you were here, and when are you leaving? The money you’re owed – I only have this much right now.” Xia Bing pulled out 1,000 cash from her drawer, planning to withdraw more from her card tomorrow.
“This money can be considered rent for staying here for a few days.”
“Sir, you’re treating this place like a hotel?” This man was nothing but trouble, especially since she was a woman. Having a grown man staying with her – though she hadn’t planned on maintaining a chastity memorial arch, the rumors would still be bad.
“Hotel?” Xiaho Zun looked down on the entire room with some contempt. The worst hotels he’d stayed in were better than her place. He glanced at a corner, sensing something was there.
