The bookstore owner said, “Xia Bing, your friend has just started in the publishing industry. Why don’t you give him the second volume of ‘Twelve’ to publish? This way, his publishing house can establish its reputation.”
Xia Bing sighed at the owner’s shrewdness and didn’t know how to respond. The editor had urged her several times about the second volume of ‘Twelve’. If she were to give it to Hai Jun’s side, what would the editor think?
Hai Jun saw that Xia Bing looked somewhat troubled and laughed, inserting himself between them.
Because of Xia Bing’s help, Hai Jun quickly established a relationship with this bookstore. After they walked out of the bookstore, Xia Bing asked about Hai Jun’s studio.
“I’ve found two editors, and I’m currently looking for another one.”
“Are both editors newcomers?” Good editors are hard to find, and experienced editors who have worked on many books are even harder. Xia Bing asked with concern.
“Experienced editors are not easy to find, but now I have one who has been working for a year and a half, and another who has been working for four years. They should be okay,” Hai Jun said, discussing the editors and some staff at the publishing house.
Xia Bing praised his efficiency.
Hai Jun said that it was all thanks to friends’ help that his studio was established quickly, but there was still a lot to do.
“What the bookstore owner said makes sense. We need to rely on some popular authors. I’ll gather some contact information and ask around…”
People with Stories
“Thank you. I’m actually just as curious as the boss about when the second volume of ‘Twelve’ will be published.” They sat on chairs by the roadside. Hai Jun looked at Xia Bing’s profile, keenly sensing something… In fact, besides ‘Twelve’, he had also briefly read some of her other books and felt they were well-written, but the emotions were not as genuine as in ‘Twelve’. A thought flashed through Hai Jun’s mind, and he stared blankly at the person before him.
Xia Bing turned her head and saw Hai Jun’s eyes. She smiled and asked, “What have you noticed?”
“Is ‘Twelve’ partly about yourself?”
