Chapter 3: Lu Tuo
“Get up early tomorrow to pick up your stepfather and your brother at the airport.” Zuo Shaoxin gracefully cut into her medium-rare steak, her movements flawless, appearing as the epitome of a noble lady. Of course, she knew; he was the child born from Zuo Shaoxin’s affair with Lu Jinghao. Many years ago, Zuo Shaoxin, unsatisfied with her stable life, began to find her husband Zuo Shaoan less appealing, both in bed and out. At a social event, she met Lu Jinghao, a wealthy businessman from Italy, and after a wild night, he couldn’t forget this wild and beautiful woman. From then on, they had countless secret rendezvous, keeping Zuo Shaoan in the dark. The affair was exposed when she got pregnant with Lu Tuo. Zuo Shaoan, enraged, went to confront Lu Jinghao, but was beaten half to death by hired thugs, returning home disheartened to find his wife had already left with the scoundrel, leaving behind their daughter who was not yet a year old. Zuo Shaoxin and Zuo Shaoan were never officially married, so when they separated, they just parted ways without further contact.
