Zuo Shaocin playfully scolded him, “I miss you, and you dare say such things!” She hugged Lu Tuo tightly, kissed him on the cheek, and laughed, “My son’s better, he makes me happy as soon as he arrives. You, on the other hand, just make me sad!”
Dong Qin stood quietly to the side, feeling like an outsider watching their happy family reunion. That happiness might have elements of pretense, but it was enough to make her feel emotional. She had lived for sixteen years without ever experiencing what family joy was like, let alone the scene of a family of three together, which she wouldn’t even dare dream of.
