But May Flower Heart Ji Rou If a Woman, a Married Woman, Hoping to Learn to Be Fickle, Does It Mean Something Big Has Happened? Is This Woman Planning Something Sinister?
Ah! (Please add your own dragging symbol) This sigh is a long sigh, very long and very long.
How long? As long as the days of joining the ranks of weaving love stories, then, it represents how long this sigh is.
But, what is there to sigh about? What does writing novels have to do with being “fickle”?
I don’t know about others, but for me, being “fickle” seems to be a good phenomenon.
Because being fickle naturally leads to loving everyone, so the acceptance of different types of men will increase, and then? Everyone knows that people who write love novels are accompanying each pair of male and female protagonists in their love, so I think I can also be more involved.
Well… to put it directly, there are probably two key points.
First, Ji Rou is too stubborn.
Second, Ji Rou must work hard.
It is well known that character portrayal in novels is quite important. Characters don’t have to be numerous, but they must each have a position and be fully expressed. To keep readers’ continuous desire to read, naturally, the character’s setting must enrich the overall story. So in common series works, apart from some common background factors, the male and female protagonists’ settings are often not the same, especially in terms of personality.
Now the problem arises. After writing for several years, will the author encounter character settings they don’t like? Certainly, after all, everyone has likes and dislikes.
Take myself as an example.
A man who knows how to create romance is always easy to capture a woman’s heart, but for me, a down-to-earth personality makes one feel more secure (so married an ox? The one used to listen to piano playing); noble families are always women’s dreams of flying to the top branch, but what I care more about is dignity of equality and life’s autonomy. (So today occupying the slums as the mistress of the house?)
The above is just a brief discussion from Ji Rou’s subjective thinking. With each person’s growth background, personality, thoughts, and even age and experience, different concepts will accumulate.
And this “difference”, if applied in real life, is like the common sayings “birds of a feather flock together” or “like attracts like, unlike repels”; but writing novels cannot be discussed at the realistic level.
For an author creating love stories and trying to satisfy different readers’ various imaginations, there are no characters that cannot be faced.
So Ji Rou says she still needs to work hard.
Aren’t charming men good? Are cold and domineering men necessarily bad? Won’t the deep courtyard mansions leave Cinderella’s footprints?
Being able to make such a man love wholeheartedly for a lifetime is believed to be even more touching and cherished. Like some works I’ve seen from colleagues, they’re written quite excellently and make people intoxicated, but I also believe that what authors are good at writing is not necessarily what they like most, and what authors like doesn’t necessarily mean it’s applicable.
So, at this point, Ji Rou must seriously tell herself again: Keep going!
Hearing Ji Rou say this, does it mean she doesn’t like the character personality settings in this book? Oh no, certainly not.
This book has been written for quite a while (which book isn’t? Forced laugh) so after grinding with the characters, of course, the emotional connection is deep. (Gritting teeth)
This book will make Ji Rou have such reflection because Ji Rou tries to make some personalities that might cause interaction barriers be resolved through love. Breaking the curse of “breaking up because of understanding”, often after this “understanding”, “comprehension” is more important. (Self-encouragement)
Although self-aware of limited writing skills, she must still try hard. As for whether it’s done well, it remains to be tested, and she believes there’s still much room for improvement that she needs to work hard to learn.
Honestly, Ji Rou has always been ashamed. After floating for many years, she remains unknown. If she says she hasn’t been troubled by gains and losses, that would be a lie. But since it’s her own heart causing trouble, of course, she must solve it herself.
Everyone knows some things can’t be forced, like timing, like ability, etc.; but not being able to force doesn’t mean giving up. If she gives up on herself first, what else can she expect from others?
She has always liked a theory – treating her pen name as a seed.
Choose a suitable growth environment, sow, fertilize, and then look forward to it sprouting… Although this process can’t guarantee avoiding disasters that might cause it to wither, at least the necessary steps must be completed.
Now, she has planted “Ji Rou” in the fertile soil where forests and flowers bloom. Although inconspicuous, she’s still receiving the nourishment of this land. Although growing slowly, she’s still surviving. Although she currently struggles to overcome her turtle-speed writing method, the more so, each work is extra precious to her. Because it can exist and be presented, it’s a compilation of many people’s efforts. What Ji Rou obtains is not just the manuscript fee. Besides the publishing house granting the opportunity and taking risks, most importantly, she needs readers’ generous support to continue her survival space.
For a small author who might face extinction at any time, each reading is so worth cherishing, and worth more gratitude. This is something only those in the situation can understand.
Entering the romance publishing world, she has had many feelings and thinks that authors’ survival is truly not easy now, especially for new authors. Readers often read books by established authors, so if no one reads a new author’s book, under the current rental bookstore system, the book will be returned. If persisted, it will naturally cause new blood to flow away. For herself, when reading, she considers both new and old authors and even likes picking works of different styles, which keeps her taste from getting boring.
So she also hopes everyone can give new people more chances, making this land more diverse and more beautiful.
As for herself, to say something more explosive, she doesn’t know when she might fall in battle. What? So pessimistic?
