There was a knocking sound at the door, and Wu Jing entered. Fu Xiaotang noticed Wu Jing giving her a knowing look with a playful smile, and she suddenly realized she was in the bedroom of Room 2008, Fang Junjie’s private quarters, causing her face to flush bright red. Wu Jing, carrying a tray, placed it on a side table and carefully handed over a steaming bowl, saying, “Don’t be shy, drink this while it’s hot. Master Junjie specifically instructed me to give this to you.” Fu Xiaotang sniffed it; the pale brown liquid had a faint medicinal aroma. After a small sip, she found it surprisingly palatable and drank it down in large gulps. After finishing, she handed the bowl back to Wu Jing and asked, “What is this?”
“Drank it already? Now you ask.” Wu Jing gave her a playful look. “Of course, it’s something good!” She whispered mysteriously, “It’s a tonic; Master Junjie was worried you might be too worn out.” Fu Xiaotang’s face turned as red as a cloth, pointing at Wu Jing, unable to speak. Wu Jing laughed, “Alright, I won’t tease you anymore. Master Junjie didn’t actually tell me all this, I guessed, but I’m sure I’m not far off. There’s no need to be embarrassed; it’s just natural for a man and a woman to love each other.” Fu Xiaotang scoffed and turned away, ignoring her. Wu Jing, suppressing her laughter, continued, “I have another message from Master Junjie: ‘After you’ve had your rest and eaten, go to Brother Zhang’s place in the afternoon. He has some urgent matters to deal with. He’ll come find you later, and you can return together.'”
Fu Xiaotang nodded, then couldn’t help asking, “Why didn’t he tell me himself? A phone call would have been fine.” Wu Jing laughed, “I said the same thing, but he just glared at me without saying anything. I don’t know what he meant either.” She smiled at Fu Xiaotang, “Maybe you should ask him?”
