The CEO’s Dancing Wife – Part Two

Zhang Rong, his face icy yet with a flicker of fire in his eyes, said, “Liu Shiquan, even now, are you unwilling to tell the truth?” Liu Yi, now in a state of desperate calm, quickly formulated her next move in her mind. It seemed she had been set up, and Zhang Rong might be involved. She wasn’t sure how much he knew, perhaps he was just testing them. She decided to gamble, adopting a pitiful expression, her eyes misty with tears, she said to Zhang Rong, “Godfather, have you always doubted me? I don’t need to claim you as my own; we have no blood relation after all. But why didn’t you just say so? Why put us in such an awkward situation? My mother would be heartbroken to see this from heaven!”

Zhang Rong’s expression softened slightly, and he gently consoled, “Don’t cry, Yi Yi. This is a significant matter; let’s hear what this young man has to say. If he dares to lie even a little, I promise you, his skin will be peeled off and presented to you as an engagement gift.” His soft-spoken threat sent chills down everyone’s spine. Liu Yi’s heart pounded like a drum, yet she nodded with an air of wronged innocence. The host chuckled confidently, “Whether this report of mine is true or false, we’ll find out soon enough. But I doubt Miss Liu Yi has the patience to wait, so let’s get to the point. I’ll just give a signal to someone in the audience.” Everyone saw a man in black pushing a wheelchair onto the stage. Sitting in the wheelchair was a middle-aged woman covered in bandages, her face waxy yellow and her gaze vacant, clearly showing signs of severe injury and mental disorientation. Liu Yi was completely petrified; she stared at the woman for a long time before asking shakily, “Who… who is this?”

“You don’t recognize her?” the host feigned surprise before turning to Liu Shiquan, “And you, you wouldn’t not recognize her, right?” Liu Shiquan stood dumbfounded for a moment before letting out a bizarre scream, his face contorted with rage as he tried to lunge forward, as if he wanted to devour the host. He shouted hoarsely, “Who are you? Who sent you? Why are you trying to harm me?”
