An Ke and Chen Yun went together to call their families, only wanting to ensure their safety, but unexpectedly, the message they received was that her father had been framed and imprisoned. With Chen Yun’s help, she easily entered the press conference venue. Without careful consideration, she immediately assumed that Jun Hao had framed An Hong, simply because of something he had said before.
After several hours of flying and then transferring to City B, it was approaching midnight. Jun Hao took An Ke directly to the police station, where An Ke finally saw An Hong. After just a few days apart, she felt that her father had aged significantly, with white hair at his temples looking particularly weathered. As soon as she called out “Dad,” her tears began to flow uncontrollably.
“Child, don’t worry, I’m fine,” An Hong tightly held his daughter’s cold hands and comforted her.
“Dad, quickly tell me what happened,” An Ke asked anxiously.
An Hong shook his head, having told the police many times, but no one believed him.
“Dad, tell me quickly,” An Ke urged.
An Hong looked at his daughter’s anxious expression, took a deep breath, and slowly began: “Around 8 o’clock the night before last, I went to a nearby convenience store and bought two bottles of Erguotou. When I was returning home, I saw a man in pain crouching near our doorway. I went forward to investigate, but unexpectedly, he collapsed to the ground with a small knife in his chest, blood flowing. I panicked and ran home to call an ambulance, and just then the police arrived, saying the man was dead, and took me to the police station for investigation. After investigation, they determined I was the murderer, and the murder weapon was actually our home’s fruit knife, with my fingerprints on it.” An Hong paused, wiping the tears about to overflow: “I’m almost in my coffin and I’m not afraid of dying. But dying with the charge of murder, how will you and your brother face people in the future?”
“Dad, you’ll be fine,” An Ke was already crying uncontrollably, though in her heart, she had no confidence in finding the real culprit. She had already decided that Jun Hao was behind this.
