In the emergency room of the hospital, the lights were on, and after several hours, the doctor had not yet come out. Pei Xuanzhi and the old master of the Pei family paced back and forth outside the door, as the person inside was their only son.
Two rows of security personnel stood in the long corridor, preventing strangers from approaching.
“How is that man doing?” An Ke anxiously looked at the doctor who was bandaging her wound.
“He’s in surgery,” the doctor replied warmly. “Do you know who he is?”
An Ke shook her head, her thoughts drifting back to a few hours earlier when this strange man had used his body to block the second fatal shot to save her. She still didn’t understand who could have such deep hatred towards her, wanting to kill her. Even more puzzling was why this man would risk his life to save her. Fortunately, the ambulance had arrived in time, as if it had been prepared in advance.
Before losing consciousness, the man had asked, “Are you okay?” An Ke nodded, and a faint, very faint smile appeared on the man’s cold face. In the blink of an eye, he returned to his cold expression: “Good that you’re fine.” Then he lost consciousness.
“He’s the young master of the Pei family. Our hospital is also under the Pei Group. You’d better pray he’ll be okay, or the Pei family won’t let you off,” the doctor said while continuing to carefully bandage her wound. “I heard the police have started an investigation. You might need to give a statement later.”
“Can I see him?” An Ke asked cautiously. She didn’t care about his identity; she only knew that this man had saved her life.
“His family has arrived. You’d better stay away,” the doctor said with concern. “Take care of yourself. You’re lucky to have only suffered minor external injuries.” As he finished bandaging her, he added, “Rest well. I believe the internal wounds are more severe than the external ones.”
“Bitch.” As soon as the doctor left, Pei Xuanzhi rushed in, disregarding her appearance, and slapped An Ke’s face. “You’re not satisfied with harming me, now you’ve come to harm my brother?”
“Leave,” An Ke remained calm facing Pei Xuanzhi. “I’ll let this slap go for your brother’s sake.”
“What did you say?” Pei Xuanzhi sneered, raising her hand to slap An Ke again.
“Enough is enough. I won’t let you hurt me again,” An Ke blocked her hand. Even while injured, she had enough strength to defend herself against this privileged young lady. However, her freshly bandaged wound began to bleed again, staining the white gauze.
When Cheng Hua and Aunt Lin arrived, this was the scene they witnessed. They were thankful An Ke was okay.
“Miss Pei, please leave,” Cheng Hua, who had no good feelings towards this woman, spoke firmly.
Pei Xuanzhi, despite her arrogance, was wary of Jun Hao’s people. She couldn’t understand why Pei Xuan Yan would risk his life like this.
“An Ke, let’s go,” Aunt Li said routinely.
“I’ll stay until I know he’s okay,” An Ke’s tone brook no argument.
The room fell silent. Cheng Hua and Aunt Li stood quietly, lost in thought.
The silence was broken by Jun Hao’s sudden appearance. Cheng Hua and Aunt Li tactfully withdrew.
He approached with a faint smile, embracing her upon seeing her bleeding arm and the slap mark on her face. Ignoring her struggle, he whispered, “I won’t allow anyone to harm what’s mine. Come with me.”
“Jun Hao, tell me he’ll be okay,” An Ke was unusually quiet, which made Jun Hao slightly uncomfortable.
He lifted her, disregarding the surprised looks, and gently placed her in the car’s backseat. As the car sped down the highway, just before entering the villa, he assured her: he would ensure Pei Xuan Yan would be fine. Though shot and confronted by Pei Xuanzhi, she hadn’t been weak, but now she felt like crying. Was it because someone definitively told her Pei Xuan Yan would be okay?
After parking, he firmly carried her inside. Cheng Hua and Aunt Li were already waiting at the door, heads lowered, expecting punishment.
As Jun Hao placed her on the bed, Aunt Lin entered. Before leaving, he simply said, “She is my woman.”
Aunt Lin was actually the famous doctor Lin Jia Ruo, a medical legend who had mysteriously disappeared from the medical world years ago. Now she was Jun Hao’s personal nurse, which explained why An Ke’s facial injury showed no trace of a slap.
“Boss…” Cheng Hua and Aunt Li called out as they heard Jun Hao’s approaching footsteps, not daring to look up.
“You know what to do,” Jun Hao looked up at the sky, a slight curve at the corner of his mouth – neither clearly happy nor angry.
Under Aunt Lin’s care, An Ke’s wounds healed quickly. She hadn’t seen Jun Hao for several days and wanted to visit Pei Xuan Yan.
She couldn’t forget Pei Xuan Yan’s faint smile before losing consciousness – a smile like opium that made her want to explore everything about this man. She had been searching online for information about him, but found only records from five years ago. In the past five years, there were no reports about him. The recent news said he had just returned to the country to take over the Pei Group.
Looking at Pei Xuan Yan’s photo from five years ago, An Ke sighed softly, “He used to be like sunshine. What could have made him so cold?
When the sun was shining, An Ke was staring blankly at Pei Xuan Yan’s radiant smile. Suddenly, a large hand closed her notebook, and Jun Hao’s face, with a hint of a smile, appeared before her. In a low voice, he said, “I’ve told you before, you are mine, and your heart can only belong to me.” He gently caressed her hair, cupped her face, and kissed her delicate lips without allowing any refusal. He only lightly sucked, not deepening the kiss: “From now on, you’re not allowed to look at any other men except me.” It was like a joke, yet also a command.
“Let me go…” An Ke pressed her hands against Jun Hao’s chest, preventing him from getting closer.
Jun Hao removed her hands and pulled her to her feet: “Don’t take my words as wind passing by your ears. You know I hate this about you, a self-important woman.” He lowered his head again to kiss her lips, and An Ke inadvertently let out a soft, small moan.
Jun Hao released her, satisfied, with a beautiful curve at the corner of his mouth: “You really like me doing this to you, don’t you?”
The joking words completely awakened An Ke, and she was angry at herself for falling into his kiss. Their eyes met, and the mocking smile in Jun Hao’s eyes deepened. He spoke again: “A woman’s body is much more honest than her mouth. You clearly enjoy it, yet you still say ‘let me go’.”
An Ke’s inherently competitive nature caused her to glare at Jun Hao. Unexpectedly, she stood on tiptoe, wrapped her arms around Jun Hao’s neck, and heavily bit his lips, returning all the actions he had just done. Her delicate tongue lightly tapped his teeth, and Jun Hao did not stop her, allowing her to attack freely. Her small tongue easily slid into his mouth, inviting him to dance together.
They spoke no words, expressing their desires through their bodies, unable to distinguish who was taking the initiative. In just two minutes, Jun Hao felt all his strength concentrated in the most sensitive part of his body. Their bodies were tightly pressed together, their breathing gradually becoming heavier, and his hands began to become restless…
“Hehe…” An Ke quickly and accurately pushed him away, distancing herself by a few steps, and laughed lightly: “Man, your body is more honest than your mouth. Your body’s reaction tells me you don’t actually dislike me.”
Jun Hao approached step by step, his face lacking its usual smile, the desire in his eyes seeming to want to devour An Ke. An Ke had nowhere to retreat and could only be pressed against the wall. An Ke made a surrendering gesture: “The game ends here.”
