Dean, holding Ye Ye’s jacket and purse, chased out of the restaurant. She had left without anything, how would she get back to the hotel? The bodyguards at the door approached, pointing towards the side of the restaurant where there was a phone booth. Dean followed their direction and saw Ye Ye, wearing only a spaghetti strap top, shivering slightly, hugging herself, rubbing her arms to keep warm. He walked over quickly, brows furrowed, and draped his jacket over her. Ye Ye felt the warmth and looked up into Dean’s beautiful lake-blue eyes, “I was wondering if you’d bring out my jacket!” “How did you know I’d come after you?” Dean asked. “I didn’t know, but I knew you’d leave eventually. I was planning to go back in to get it after you left…” Ye Ye sniffled, her nose red from the cold; September in Paris was much colder than in Hong Kong. Ye Ye, used to warmer climates, seemed particularly susceptible to the cold here. A complex emotion flashed in Dean’s eyes as he took off his own jacket and placed it over Ye Ye’s shoulders, “Silly girl! Aren’t you angry?” He thought Ye Ye would be upset about what just happened, but now, she seemed not to care at all. “Why would I be angry? I’ve already slapped her,” Ye Ye laughed, her fierce demeanor from earlier gone. “Want to go somewhere else to eat?” Dean was surprised by Ye Ye’s magnanimity, smiling lightly. “I’m full.” “Anywhere else you want to go?” “Aren’t you a married man? Don’t you need to go home?” Ye Ye asked curiously. “Does my being married bother you?” Dean asked, not understanding why he was so drawn to this girl he just met, but he couldn’t help wanting to be close to her. “Not really… because you’re not mine, why should I care?” Ye Ye gave a wry smile. Dean felt inexplicably upset by her indifference, frowning in silence. Ye Ye, seeing his silence and the slight unhappiness in his beautiful eyes, took his hand, “Aren’t you supposed to accompany me? Let’s go to a bar, okay?” Dean remained silent but allowed Ye Ye to hold his hand, feeling an inexplicable warmth in his heart. “Come on, which one? It has to be the best. I won’t settle for anything less!” Ye Ye muttered while pulling Dean forward, her eyes scanning around for a high-end bar. Dean gave a meaningful, faint smile. What a beautiful and changeable girl, gentle like a cat, confused at times, fierce like a tigress, and now acting all coy and endearing… “Let’s go to the one across the street; it looks expensive!” Ye Ye’s eyes sparkled at the sight of the bar across the street, “But this time, you can’t clear the place, okay?” she said to Dean. Dean nodded in agreement. The two, hand in hand, walked towards the bar across the street, with the bodyguards diligently following. They were puzzled; their usually aloof CEO was being so gentle and attentive to a Chinese girl today…
