When Dean had finished his morning work schedule and returned to the castle in the Paris suburbs, it was already noon. Entering, his wife Misha was sitting forlornly and anxiously on the living room sofa, staring blankly at the door. Seeing Dean’s figure, Misha’s pale face bloomed into a smile, and she happily greeted him, “Darling, you’re back.”
Misha helped Dean out of his coat, planted a gentle kiss on his cheek, and smiled up at him, waiting for his return kiss. Dean looked at his wife, gave her a light kiss on the lips, and as Misha was about to deepen it, he pulled away…
Misha looked at Dean with confusion; usually, he would kiss her when he came back, not necessarily a deep kiss, but definitely not this perfunctory!
“What’s wrong, darling?” Misha asked, still patient with her seemingly downhearted husband.
“I’m a bit tired.” Dean said faintly, heading upstairs, “Where’s mom?”
“Mom went to the airport to pick up grandmother; she hasn’t come back yet. Have you had lunch?”
“No.” Dean said. In fact, he had rushed back to appease Misha, so she wouldn’t come looking for him in the city.
