Everyone took their seats, Aunt Xiong pulled Ye Ye to taste each dish, while Uncle Xiong and Long Yu discussed their topics.
“Ye Ye, have some of this shark fin soup, it was specially sent by Young Master Long early this morning, it’s top-notch, I’ve put a lot of effort into cooking it, try it!” Aunt Xiong said with a smile, serving a bowl to Ye Ye.
“It’s great, Aunt Xiong’s cooking is always so good. It tastes like my mom’s cooking!” Ye Ye said emotionally.
“Silly child, if you want to eat your mom’s cooking, just come to Aunt Xiong’s. Your uncle and I treat you like our daughter. Or else, you find a wife who can cook like this, hehe, you’ll get to eat food that tastes just like your mom’s!” Aunt Xiong said, glancing at Long Yu with a meaningful look.
Ye Ye laughed foolishly, while Long Yu maintained a cool demeanor: “Ye Ye, you’ve put me in a tough spot! Sigh—if you’re looking for someone whose mother can cook, definitely don’t choose me because although my mom runs a restaurant, she only knows how to eat, not to cook! Looks like you can’t marry me then—sigh—” He finished with an expression of mock regret, making everyone burst into laughter. Ye Ye pretended to be angry, saying, “Hmph! I’ve never considered you as a potential husband anyway! So whether your mom can cook or not doesn’t matter to me!” Their playful banter made everyone laugh even harder.
After dinner, Ye Ye and Long Yu said their goodbyes. They arrived at one of Long Yu’s properties, the “Feng Hua Jue Dai” club. Long Yu parked the car and turned to Ye Ye, “Want to go up for a while?”
“I can’t, the school is waiting for me at the gala to do some translation work!” Ye Ye checked her watch; it was 8:50.
