The Duke’s Affair – Part Two [Complited]

Dean’s car raced along the winding mountain road, approaching the accident scene. Far off, he saw onlookers, and police and medical personnel who had just arrived, forming a semi-circle around the site. His heart was gripped with tension… When Dean’s car screeched to a stop beside the police and ambulance vehicles, the first casualty, a woman from the white Honda, was being carried out by paramedics. Her face and body were covered in blood, unrecognizable… After the medical team had briefly treated and stabilized her wounds, one of the ambulances, siren blaring, took her away first…

Xi Menxu, Jones, and the bodyguards arrived shortly after, only to see Dean standing at the cliff’s edge, his lips tightly pressed, his lake-blue eyes filled with deep concern, watching the rescue efforts for the black Lamborghini. The two cars had tumbled off the road in a T-shape, stopping against a row of trees on the steep slope outside. The white Honda was pressed against the driver’s door of the black Lamborghini. The mountain wind fluttered Dean’s black shirt and his silver-black hair, making him strikingly visible in the night. His hands, tucked into his pockets, trembled slightly; he was afraid, fearing that the person trapped in the Lamborghini was indeed Ye Ye, the beautiful elf who had just moments ago been defiantly challenging him…

Still clinging to a sliver of hope—that it was just a similar car, and Ye Ye had safely left—”The door is stuck! The injured is female, can’t make out the face, she’s bleeding… Hurry, get this white car out of the way, get me the hydraulic shears! Get me the spreader… more hands, quickly!” the rescue officers shouted. Several supporting officers, equipped with tools, slid down the steep slope. Xi Menxu signaled the bodyguards to assist. A dozen strong bodyguards immediately followed the officers…

Dean watched numbly, forgetting his own status. His heart was in turmoil, hoping against hope that it wasn’t Ye Ye inside… Suddenly, as if struck by a thought, Dean pulled out his phone and began dialing Ye Ye’s number, deluding himself into thinking she was safe, that this accident was just an unrelated incident…
