The Enigma Squad

Yin Ming said, “When I was in school, my major was ‘The Book of Changes’.” He picked up the teapot and poured two cups of tea. “I understand geomancy, Yin and Yang divination, and I’m currently working in this field. It’s rare to meet someone in the same profession, so today I’ll test you.”

He came unexpectedly with a big attitude. Luo Yingbai didn’t respond to his words, picked up the tea in front of him, and took a gentle sip, saying, “Oh, it’s Yongchun Buddha’s Hand tea, good tea.”

Yin Ming was stunned that he could identify it so quickly: “Do you know about tea?”

After understanding, he found that this young man seemed to have some skills, so he came with a try-it-and-see attitude.

Although he was seeking help, he still couldn’t completely lower his guard and deep down looked down on the other person. Luo Yingbai’s composed and noble demeanor surprised Yinming.

Luo Yingbai simply replied, “A little.”

Yinming: “…”

“This tea isn’t expensive, but it has a unique taste. I quite like it,” Luo Yingbai put down his teacup and gave a slight, curved smile, “Sorry for going off-topic. Mr. Yin, please get to the point.”

Yinming inexplicably felt uneasy. Luo Yingbai’s smile carried a mysterious sense of insight, subtly putting pressure on him.

Yinming’s previous casual attitude slightly softened. He came to find Luo Yingbai, firstly because of Liao Zhong, and secondly for another matter he couldn’t directly speak about. So Yinming weighed his words and began to describe the Liao family’s situation.

“So you brewed this tea to teach me a lesson, but my perspective is quite different,” Luo Yingbai replied. “The Buddha’s hand has a pleasant fragrance.”

Slowly savoring it is like spring flowers blooming, which reminds me of something else.”

He smiled faintly, his expression leisurely: “This year, the weather warmed up early. The peach blossoms on the mountain had already bloomed in March, bright and beautiful. Unfortunately, a heavy snow fell around Qingming, and the early-blooming flowers withered from the cold. Those that bloomed later benefited from the melted snow and good weather. After all, there’s a saying about the Yangtze River’s later waves pushing out the earlier ones. Don’t you agree?”
