The Enigma Squad

At the same time, in a nearby van, the police officer Yang Zheng, watching the surveillance, nervously warned his colleagues. As soon as his words fell, the car was surrounded by black mist, with a suffocating sense of oppression rushing forward. Yang Zheng couldn’t help but swallow, his palms sweating – he had just started this job and wasn’t used to such grand scenes.

”Relax,” Gou Songze patted his shoulder and smiled, “Isn’t our boss here?”

Their boss Xia Yanning did not disappoint, his cold voice chanting the incantation: “All laws return to one, infinite creates thought.” He pushed open the car door, drawing a circular arc in the air, and suddenly a Taiji diagram appeared in the dark night. Xia Yanning lightly shouted “Break”, and the invisible barrier was directly shattered, revealing the originally flawless night sky.

At this moment, the walkie-talkie suddenly transmitted a crisp female voice – Yue Ling reporting the situation: “Everyone, pay attention, I think I’ve spotted the target!”

With her words, the monitoring screen showed a massive ghost body, mouth wide open, pouncing in a certain direction. This was quite far from them. Xia Yanning’s eyes narrowed, his fingers forming a seal, about to act when he heard a light shout: “Infinite transformation, bind!” A silver lightning bolt from nearby locked onto the ghost body, instantly resolving the crisis.

A silence fell around them. After a moment, Yang Zheng asked: “Is it one of our own?” No one answered him. From the direction of the silver light, a figure was walking towards them. As the figure approached, Xia Yanning suddenly sat up straight.

Yue Ling pressed the microphone, lowering her voice: “Captain Xia, what should we do? Should we rush up or wait?”

After her words, the blurry figure gradually became clear. The person wore a black shirt, walking as if made of night itself, with ambiguous starlight falling on their body, revealing a thin and delicate silhouette. In the dark shadows, there was a beautiful stillness.

Only their face was backlit, making their facial features indistinguishable, but giving the impression that only an extremely exquisite face could match such a temperament. Cold and noble, quiet as moonlight. Who was this person? If judged by temperament, they would more resemble a vampire from Western legends.
