I looked puzzled at her overly pale face, following her gaze. When I looked – oh my, it was like seeing a ghost – a silver-haired man in tattered clothes lay on the ground, his face covered in black air, his features unrecognizable. Golden light was draped over his side, and I could vaguely make out his black, slightly purple lips moving.
Before Xiao Wu could react, I had already rushed over in one step, for no other reason than seeing him calling out – Shui Zi Xiu!
“Xiao Wu, come help me, let’s carry him inside. I think he’s been poisoned,” I frowned, looking seriously at Xiao Wu. My five-year-old body could only be supported by him, not the other way around.
Even though his features were indiscernible, his robust body and tall stature were still evident. Though his clothes were worn and tattered, his inherent, unavoidable sense of oppression was clear.
Time really passes quickly. In the blink of an eye, I’ve been here for half a year. Xiao Wu said that last time I was injured, I was in a coma for over a month. Xiu helped me recover every day, and I saw envy in her eyes. What surprised me was that there wasn’t a single trace of injury on my abdomen, not even a scar.
While lost in thought, I heard Xiao Wu’s panicked footsteps getting closer.
“Young lady, young lady… the injured man has woken up!” Xiao Wu rushed in, covered in sweat, her face flushed from running.
“Awake? So quickly? His physical condition is quite good. I didn’t expect him to wake up so fast.” I lazily exclaimed. Having been poisoned so deeply yet being fine, and I hadn’t used any medicine to treat him – he actually recovered and woke up so quickly.
“Yes! But he—” Xiao Wu’s face suddenly turned bright red, like it was painted with blood-red pigment, redness spreading to her ears, her entire face more flushed than blood itself, and she even gave me a passionate look.
I observed her carefully – something was wrong.
This little girl was falling in love. I watched her with interest, not anxious about the man’s condition.
“Huh? Is it very hot outside today?” I looked up at the sky, asking her in confusion, yet secretly wearing a triumphant smile.
