“Take her away. I’m tired and want to rest!” Looking at his appearance, I sighed helplessly and turned my back to them.
“Okay! I’ll come have dinner with you later. Oh, Xiao Wu wasn’t brought by me, but by Wuhen, who asked me to bring her to you!” He said, then prepared to leave with Xiao Wu.
When I heard the name Wuhen again, I suddenly felt strange, as if the man who had appeared in my memory had become so unfamiliar that I could hardly remember who he was.
“Then leave him behind,” I said softly after a few seconds of daze.
“That’s more like it. Why did you make me use my trump card!” Weilo’s tone was still relaxed, his voice light, with no emotion detectable.
I still didn’t look at Xiao Wu’s expression. She was no longer worth my concern, simply because she was a maid sent by Wuhen.
I accepted the maid he sent to ensure he remembered that he had sheltered me during my most helpless time, but he had also handed me over to hell when I needed his help the most. I wanted him to remember that he owed me. They all owed me.
I am an unfeeling and selfish person. Even though I told myself that they didn’t owe me anything and I had no right to blame them, I ultimately could not forgive them. Just like Wuhen, I was the one who requested to enter the palace. Even though he merely went with the flow, I still resented him.
“By the way, mother wants to see you tomorrow!” Weilo’s voice interrupted my thoughts.
I still faced away from him. His tone was relaxed, but I felt a suffocating sense of conspiracy approaching.
“Okay!” I ultimately agreed, as I had promised myself that Weilo was the only one who had never hurt me, the only one willing to give me freedom, and I would repay him with my happiness.
“Miss, do you love this man?” Xiao Wu’s voice sounded behind me, ignoring my coldness towards her.
