The Runaway Plan of the Priestess

“…” Mei Kaiye gave him a sidelong glance, “Just an ordinary thing.” She didn’t feel anything.

“Hehe,” Grandfather Dugu winked at her, “You’ll know its effect soon. But this thing won’t take effect for an hour.”

Mei Kaiye frowned, “Old fox, what are you planning?”

“Ah, Little Black girl, I just heard something,” Grandfather Dugu’s eyes flashed with a gleam, “The Emperor misses Night Concubine very much, and you happen to look quite similar to Night Concubine. As servants, how can we not help the Emperor ease his worries? What do you say, girl?”

Suddenly, Mei Kaiye’s eyes went dark. A hand covered her eyes, warm and dry, with a slight callus from years of sword practice.

Dugu Ming said in a low voice, “Grandpa!”

Grandpa Dugu laughed awkwardly, “Ming’er…”

Mei Kaiye was already feeling weak, and now that her savior had arrived, she leaned against Dugu Ming. His breath was fresh and pure, making her feel at ease. Mei Kaiye blinked, “Grandpa, your scheme won’t work now.”

Grandpa sighed, “Ah, yes. My grandson has grown up and doesn’t want his grandpa anymore.”

Dugu Ming glanced at his grandfather with a hint of helplessness, then picked up Mei Kaiye horizontally, saying, “Grandpa, I’ll take her to rest.”

“Grandpa stroked his beard, giving their backs a meaningful look. Suddenly, he flicked his finger, and a teacup flew directly towards Mei Kaiye.

Dugu Ming dodged the teacup, turning his head to speak, when a white pill was flicked into his mouth, dissolving instantly.

“Xiao Ming, what’s wrong?”

Dugu Ming was stunned, glancing at his grandfather and saying flatly, “Nothing.”

Grandpa laughed brilliantly, his old face almost twisting, “How can it be nothing? Something’s happening! Something big!”

Dugu Ming ignored him, continuing to carry Mei Kaiye. His mischievous grandfather was impossible to argue with, and any conversation would only lead to more nonsense.

Grandpa followed until Dugu Ming laid Mei Kaiye on the bed. “Rest a bit, you should be fine.”

Grandpa suddenly whispered to a nearby maid, “Proceed as planned!”

Dugu Ming, with his keen hearing, immediately turned and asked, “Grandpa, what are you doing?”

“Hahaha, nothing.” Grandpa chuckled and backed out of the room.

As soon as he spoke, there were several loud sounds – the windows and doors were all closed and nailed shut by servants, multiple layers inside and out.
