The Undead

The elderly General Zheng finally understood Zhou Rong’s meaning, simultaneously laughing and crying, covering his eyes.

“You can’t possibly develop a vaccine using Noah Chong!” Romuel’s composed negotiation stance finally crumbled, impatiently saying, “The antibodies he carries are not applicable to the vast majority of people. Haven’t your military research institute figured out such an obvious fact?”

Jin Hua coughed, and once the leaders’ attention focused on her, she delicately said, “According to scientific reports, our research institute currently believes that Sinan’s serum still has potential.”

Zhou Rong slightly narrowed his eyes, seeming somewhat puzzled. General Zheng quietly explained, “Jin Hua, as a colonel, is responsible for communication between the military and research institute, and now manages the research department’s daily affairs.”

Zhou Rong silently nodded.

Romuel countered, “If he’s truly useful, why did the Pandora virus still break out in Florida?”

Jin Hua immediately retorted, “So you’re finally admitting that the zombie virus escaped from your country’s laboratory, Mr. Romuel?”

The female colonel’s challenge was sharp and precise, but Romuel couldn’t be bothered to respond: “Lethal infectious viruses would be contained within coastal areas.”

Only simultaneous outbreaks across continents could enable global transmission. Our country just happened to be slightly ahead, thanks to Dr. Elisa Feldman.”

Jin Hua said, “If you hadn’t been that fatal step ahead…”

“Human greed for life is the true reason leading humanity towards doomsday,” Romuel said politely. “But now, I don’t want to engage in any ethical debates, madam. Our country is willing to exchange the already cultivated secondary antibodies for Noah Chong. Will you accept the trade? Please give me an immediate response.”

Everyone looked at each other, and Jin Hua was momentarily speechless.

Zhou Rong played with a metal lighter, its cover making a crisp opening and closing sound, and after a while, said indifferently, “No.”

Romuel completely ignored him: “The secondary antibodies can not only quickly cure virus infections but also possess Noah Chong’s most important rapid body healing capabilities. Holding him captive serves no purpose.”

The leaders exchanged glances. Only Jin Hua, after careful consideration, said solemnly, “But according to the research institute’s report, we believe it’s not impossible to develop a universal vaccine for all civilians…”

Romuel slightly sneered while holding a cigarette.
