“Why is this happening?” The young potato boy looked puzzled.
Wu Yangfeng jumped off the horse and walked in front of it. Suddenly, a faint fragrance wafted over, subtle yet distinct. After sniffing, he turned to everyone and said, “It seems we can’t take the carriage in; we’ll have to walk into the valley.” “Why?” asked Little Potato. “The Medicine King might not like animals, so he’s used some kind of drug,” Wu Yangfeng explained as he approached the carriage, addressing Shang Bieye, “I think you should carry Xinmeng up the mountain.” Shang Bieye turned back to the carriage, gently helped Yan Xinmeng to her feet as if fearing to break her, and carefully hoisted her onto his back. “Yu Chen, could you and Little Potato stay here to look after the horses and the carriage? Yangfeng and I will go into the valley,” Shang Bieye requested. “No problem, go quickly!” Bu Yucheng nodded. Watching the receding figures of Shang Bieye and the others, Little Potato asked Bu Yucheng with reluctance, “Uncle Bu, will Master’s Wife be okay?” “She should be fine,” Bu Yucheng replied, though he wasn’t entirely sure and also had no idea what the Medicine King would have them do. Shang Bieye, carrying Yan Xinmeng, and Wu Yangfeng walked step by step into the Valley of the Medicine King.
