The Villain’s Daughter is Four and a Half

That was a long story. Jiang Baiyuan was lost in his memories for a while before uttering four words: “Love at first sight.” Love at first sight often starts with attraction to beauty. However, when two equally good-looking people meet, love at first sight does seem more plausible. Jiang Ruyi continued to ask, “And then what?” Then, knowing she worked at a bookstore, he often went there to read. For half a year, he didn’t dare speak to her. He was 18 at the time, just a poor student, introverted and not good with words; his academic achievements didn’t give him confidence but rather made him feel inferior. He had no job, no money, and his only sister, who had a boyfriend, started asking him for money, adding to his already great academic pressure, feeling like he might go mad at any moment. If he hadn’t met her, he might have actually gone mad. But he did meet her. She was quiet, elegant, beautiful, otherworldly, wearing a long white dress with her hair flowing, like a fairy who had strayed into the mortal world. He fell in love at first sight but dared not profane her. He visited the bookstore she worked at, rain or shine. Six months later, she actually spoke to him first: “Hi, I’ve made some tea, would you like to have some together?” Her smile was as bright as flowers, her voice gentle and melodious, more beautiful than any music in the world. He was startled, dropping his book, his first reaction was to run out of the bookstore. Outside, the cold wind bit into him, waking him up, and he turned back to her side: “Okay. Let’s have tea together.” He couldn’t describe his feelings at that moment, moved to tears, almost grateful… Even someone like him had the chance to touch happiness. They drank tea together. He didn’t know what kind of tea it was, but it was fragrant, light, and slightly sweet. Just like her. Her smile was sweet, her voice was sweet. From then on, every time he left, she would ask him to stay for a cup of tea. They didn’t talk much during these times, nor was there a need to. Just looking at her made him feel content.
